What was previously a Tropical Storm has now become a full-fledged hurricane, expected to hit Florida’s Gulf Coast sometime Wednesday morning. Floridians and those traveling to Florida are preparing for the impact of the storm, and we’re keeping an eye on all the updates you need to know if you’ll be in the area. The latest of those updates comes from the Orlando International Airport.

The Orlando International Airport (MCO) shared a statement on Twitter on the morning of Tuesday, August 29th, noting that the airport remains open currently. Officials are monitoring the path of the storm, but they don’t currently foresee any significant impact to airport operations at this time.

This statement is in relation solely to airport operations — you may still experience delays and changes with your flights due to storm-related issues in other areas. If you’re concerned about travel plans being affected, it’s a good idea to get in touch with your airline directly.
