Uncovering Hidden PRICE INCREASES for 2024 Disney World Park Tickets

Get ready — Disney World ticket prices are CHANGING in 2024.

Disney World

2024 Disney World vacation bookings (along with bookings for the Disney Dining Plan) opened up on May 31st, 2023. With that came some technical issues, and key reveals about just how much your Disney World tickets will cost in 2024. Now, we’re breaking down some of the SNEAKY changes Disney has made when it comes to tickets in 2024 and what YOU need to know.

Ticket Price Range (1-day to 10-day)

First up, let’s talk about the ticket price range for 1-day to 10-day tickets. That appears to have remained the same when comparing 2023 to 2024.

2024 Ticket Range ©Disney

1-day tickets still begin at $109 per day, 2-day tickets still begin at $112 per day, etc.

Ticket Price Range (1-Day tickets)

What about 1-day tickets? Previously, the most expensive 1-day ticket starting price was $159+. That appears to have increased. While the cheapest 1-day ticket starting price is still $109+, the most expensive ticket starting price is now $164+.

You can see the difference in pricing for super popular dates like New Year’s Eve 2023 (priced at $159+)…

2023 Calendar ©Disney

…versus New Year’s Eve in 2024 (priced at $164+).

2024 Calendar ©Disney

You’ll find these most expensive $164+ days mainly toward the back end of 2024 (with other dates sprinkled in between). Specifically, the following dates are now priced at this level:

  • February 16th-February 24th (in 2023, these ranged from $149+-$159+)
  • March 29th-March 31st (in 2023, these ranged from $144+-$149+)
  • April 20th-21st (in 2023, those dates were priced at $149+)
  • November 24th-November 30th (in 2023 these range from $149+ to $159+)
  • December 1st (in 2023 this is $154+)
  • December 22nd-December 31st (in 2023 these dates are $159+)

Disney World

Remember though, those are just the starting prices for 1-day tickets. Currently, 1-day ticket pricing depends on the park you’re buying a ticket for. So let’s see how that has changed on Disney World’s most popular days.

Let’s use New Year’s Eve as an example. In 2023, the highest ticket price (of all the parks) is Magic Kingdom at $189 for a single-day ticket. On that same day, EPCOT is priced at $179, Hollywood Studios is priced at $179, and Animal Kingdom is priced at $159.

©Disney

On New Year’s Eve in 2024, the highest price overall is still Magic Kingdom at $189, and EPCOT is still priced at $179. But, Hollywood Studios’ ticket price has INCREASED to $184 and Animal Kingdom’s price has also increased to $164.

©Disney

So overall, the ticket range is still $109 to $189. But you should expect to see some increases in the ticket prices for certain parks on other super popular days, they just won’t go over the $189 mark. Some of these ticket price increases are VERY sneaky because they may be specific to a certain date or park — just be sure to keep that in mind!

Other Ticket Price Increases and DECREASES (1-Day Tickets)

Now, let’s talk about other spots where you’ll see ticket price increases. As noted above, some days now fall into a higher price bracket in terms of the starting price ($164+ versus the former high of $159+). Additionally, some dates now fall into higher pricing than they did before, even if they’re below the $164+ mark.

On the other side of the coin, some dates have DECREASED in starting price and now fall into a lower pricing bracket (in terms of the starting price at least).

Scanning into the theme park

Note that all of the prices below are STARTING ticket prices. Remember that 1-day tickets vary in price depending on what park you’re going to. While the STARTING ticket price (which typically represents the price for a ticket to Disney’s Animal Kingdom as that tends to be the cheapest park to visit) may have gone up or down on certain dates, the prices for tickets above that starting price might have remained the same.

On the other hand, a starting price (typically representing a ticket to Animal Kingdom) may have remained the same, but ticket prices for the other parks might have increased on that date.

January 2023 vs January 2024

When comparing ticket prices from January 2023 to 2024, some dates have remained the same (for example, January 1st and 2nd, 2024 are still priced at $159+, just as they were in 2023), but other dates now fall under a higher price bracket.

Here’s the 2023 calendar for reference…

2023 Calendar ©Disney

…and here’s 2024.

2024 Calendar ©Disney

Here’s a list of just some of the increases we’re noticing on starting prices:

  • January 3rd — was $144+ in 2023, is $149+ in 2024
  • January 4th — was $144+ in 2023, is $149+ in 2024
  • January 5th — was $144+ in 2023, is $149+ in 2024
  • January 10th — was $134+ in 2023, is $139+ in 2024
  • January 13th — was $139+ in 2023, is $149+ in 2024
  • January 14th — was $149+ in 2023, is $154+ in 2024
  • January 15th — was $149+ in 2023, is $154+ in 2024
  • January 19th — was $144+ in 2023, is $149+ in 2024
  • January 26th — was $134+ in 2023, is $144+ in 2024

And here are some decreases on starting prices:

  • January 8th — was $144+ in 2023, is $134+ in 2024
  • January 9th — was $139+ in 2023, is $134+ in 2024
  • January 16th — was $154+ in 2023, is $144+ in 2024
  • January 21st — was $149+ in 2023, is $139+ in 2024
  • January 22nd — was $139+ in 2023, is $134+ in 2024
  • January 25th — was $144+ in 2023, is $134+ in 2024
  • January 29th — was $144+ in 2023, is $139+ in 2024
  • January 30th — was $139+ in 2023, is $134+ in 2024

Hollywood Studios

In terms of trends in January, it looks like certain Fridays went UP in starting price, along with one Saturday and Sunday. But other days increased that are not weekends, so it really depends on the day.

For the remaining months, we won’t go quite in-depth, but we’ll point out some interesting things!

February 2023 vs February 2024

When comparing February 2023 to 2024, we’re seeing some similar things. Certain days now fall into a higher starting price bracket, while others have been reduced. February 1st, for example, was $134+ in 2023, but is $139+ in 2024. In comparison, February 5th was $144+ in 2023 but is $139+ in 2024.

Here’s a look at the 2024 calendar.

February 2024 ©Disney

Some dates in February do now fall into that highest price bracket of $164+ so do keep that in mind.

March 2023 vs March 2024

In March, there do not appear to be ANY days that have been made chapter. Instead, it looks like Disney has made every single starting price in the month MORE expensive in 2024 than in 2023. Generally, the change is from $149+ to $154+, but that varies by the date.

©Disney

Of particular note is March 29th-31st which used to be priced at $144+ to $149+. In 2024, those dates are priced at $164+ so you may expect your late March trips to be more expensive than before (just remember these are increases reflected in the starting price — you’ll have to look at each specific park to see if that park’s pricing has increased or not).

April 2023 vs April 2024

In April, we’re seeing some more changes. Some dates remained the same in starting ticket prices from 2023 to 2024, specifically April 8th, 9th, 23rd, 28th, 29th, and 30th.

All other dates INCREASED in starting price when compared between 2023 and 2024.

©Disney

No dates in April 2024 saw a decrease in the starting price.

May 2023 vs May 2024

In May of 2024, it was more of a mix. Some starting ticket prices increased, some remained the same, and some went DOWN in price.

©Disney

So you’ll really carefully want to watch the dates and ticket prices here to determine just how your budget should be adjusted.

June 2023 vs June 2024

In June, we’re seeing more of a mix. Some dates decreased in price (for example, June 1st went from $149+ to $144+), some stayed the same (June 3rd is still $144+), but most others increased in starting price.

©Disney

Overall, more days appear to have increased in price in June than decreased or stayed the same. Of particular note, the last days of the month are now priced at $154+ while they used to be in the $134-149+ range.

July 2023 vs July 2024

In July, several dates remained at the same price, some increased, and only a handful of dates decreased in price.

©Disney

Again, the month ends on a more expensive note with ticket prices starting at 144+ instead of $134+ or $139+.

August 2023 vs August 2024

August is again a mix.

©Disney

Interestingly, however, August seems to have gotten quite a few decreases, with mid-August, in particular, getting cheaper. Here’s a look at some decreases:

  • August 5th — $149+ in 2023, $134+ in 2024
  • August 6th — $144+ in 2023, $134+ in 2024
  • August 7th — $134+ in 2023, $129+ in 2024
  • August 8th — $134+ in 2023, $129+ in 2024
  • August 12th — $139+ in 2023, $124+ in 2024
  • August 13th — $139+ in 2023, $124+ in 2024
  • August 14th — $129+ in 2023, $119+ in 2024
  • August 15th — $129+ in 2023, $124+ in 2024
  • August 16th — $134+ in 2023, $129+ in 2024
  • August 18th — $134+ in 2023, $129+ in 2024
  • August 19th — $144+ in 2023, $129+ in 2024
  • August 20th — $134+ in 2023, $109+ in 2024
  • August 21st — $134+ in 2023, $109+ in 2024
  • August 26th — $134+ in 2023, $109+ in 2024
  • August 27th — $134+ in 2023, $109+ in 2024
  • August 28th — $134+ in 2023, $109+ in 2024

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Again, remember this is just a decrease in the STARTING price per day. So, for example, August 28th, 2023 starts at $134+. Ticket prices break down to $134 for Animal Kingdom, $144 for Hollywood Studios, $134 for EPCOT, and $149 for Magic Kingdom.

In 2024, August 28th is $109+. Prices break down to $109 for Animal Kingdom, $129 for Hollywood Studios, $119 for EPCOT, and $134 for Magic Kingdom. So in this case, prices for all parks have gone down on that day, but that could vary.

September 2023 vs September 2024

September appears to have more of a mix.

©Disney

Some dates have increased in price (like how September 1st has gone from $144+ to $149+), others have decreased (like how September 3rd has gone from $144+ to $109+), and some have remained the same.

October 2023 vs October 2024

October can be a big month when it comes to Halloween in particular, so let’s see how that has changed! Overall, a handful of dates have seen decreases, others have stayed the same, and some have increased.

©Disney

Surprisingly, some of the dates around Halloween have actually seen DECREASES or remained the same in terms of starting price. October 29th is priced at $149+ in 2023 but goes down to $144+ in 2024, the same happens on October 30th. October 31st — Halloween Day — has remained with the same starting price — $144+ — across 2023 and 2024.

Interestingly, while the starting price is the same on Hallowen Day, there have been some park-specific pricing changes compared to 2023. In 2023, the park-specific pricing for Halloween is $144 for Animal Kingdom, $154 for Hollywood Studios, $144 for EPCOT, and $154 for Magic Kingdom.

The park-specific prices for Halloween in 2024 are $144 for Animal Kingdom (same), $164 for Hollywood Studios ($10 MORE), $154 for EPCOT ($10 MORE), and $164 for Magic Kindom ($10 MORE).

Disney World Theme Park Ticket Cards

So while the Animal Kingdom price is the same, all other parks will be MORE expensive to visit on Halloween in 2024.

November 2023 vs November 2024

When it comes to November 2023, again there’s again a mix of pricing changes, but you might really be curious about the time near Thanksgiving (of course), so let’s break that down.

©Disney

Thanksgiving in 2024 falls on November 28th (compared to November 23rd in 2023). Thanksgiving Day 2023 is priced at $159+, but in 2024 Thanksgiving Day is priced at $164+. In fact, the entire last week of November is priced at $164+ in 2024, compared to ranges from $149+ to $159+ in 2023.

On Thanksgiving Day itself in 2023, the prices in 2023 are $159 for Animal Kingdom, $179 for Hollywood Studios, $169 for EPCOT, and $184 for Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT

In 2024, ticket prices are $164 for Animal Kingdom, $184 for Hollywood Studios, $174 for EPCOT, and $189 for Magic Kingdom. So ALL parks have seen an increase on that holiday when comparing 2023 to 2024.

December 2023 vs December 2024

Finally, we get to December! As you might have expected, a lot of December has gotten MUCH more expensive in terms of starting prices. A handful of dates have seen a decrease (like December 5th which is going from $154+ to $149+) but many have seen increases (or stayed the same).

Magic Kingdom

The biggest change comes at the end of the year. From December 22nd through the 31st, ticket prices start at $164+, compared to in 2023 when ticket prices on those dates were $159+.

Again, pricing for each park will depend on the day and park you’ll be visiting. So Christmas Day in 2023 is priced as follows: $159 for Animal Kingdom, $179 for Hollywood Studios, $179 for EPCOT, and $189 for Magic Kingdom.

In 2024, those prices are $164 for Animal Kingdom ($5 increase), $184 for Hollywood Studios ($5 increase), $179 for EPCOT (no change), and $189 for Magic Kingdom (no change). So whether your trip will be more expensive or about the same will really depend on WHERE you want to go.

Multi-Day Tickets

Now, let’s take a look at multi-day tickets. Again, this will vary a LOT depending on when you want to go and how ticket prices have changed during that time. But, let’s price out a June trip in 2023 versus 2024 just as an example.

A 4-day ticket (1 park per day) with a June 14th starting date is $520.53 per ticket, while the same 4-day ticket in 2024 is $629.16 per ticket.

EPCOT

What about an August example? In 2023, a 4-day ticket starting August 13th is $496.88 per ticket…

©Disney

…but is $569.72 in 2024.

©Disney

So you will want to carefully watch those dates as a multi-day ticket for the same period of time in 2024 might be MORE expensive than what it was in 2023.

Park Hopper Add-On

The Park Hopper add-on price now varies by date but let’s take a look at some examples to see how things could be changing in 2023 vs 2024. For this, we’ll use a 1-day ticket with the same starting price in 2023 and 2024 — August 3rd. The starting price is $144 for both years.

In 2023, that breaks down to $144 for Animal Kingdom, $149 for Hollywood Studios, $144 for EPCOT, and $154 for Magic Kingdom.

In 2024, it’s $144 for Animal Kingdom (no change), $164 for Hollywood Studios (increase), $164 for EPCOT (increase), and $169 for Magic Kingdom (increase).

Spaceship Earth

But what about a Park Hopper ticket? Well, in 2023, a Park Hopper ticket for August 3rd would set you back $218 per ticket. But in 2024, that increased to $231 on August 3rd. That’s an increase of $13.

©Disney

We’ve spotted this on other dates too. Take September 5th. The starting price is $109+ in 2023 and 2024. But a Park Hopper option on this date will set you back $184 in 2023…

©Disney

…versus $188 in 2024. That’s an increase of $4, which makes sense because you’ll see that ticket prices for all parks (except Animal Kingdom) also increase on that date in 2024 (but because Animal Kingdom’s price is the same, the “starting price” for both is the same).

©Disney

Again, this will all vary depending on the date you choose to visit since Park Hopper costs and 1-day ticket prices are date-specific now. But be aware that just because a starting price might be the same between 2023 and 2024, it doesn’t mean that tickets for ALL parks on that date will be the same price, and it doesn’t mean Park Hoppers will be the same price either.

Overall Takeaways

So what are the big takeaways here? Disney World is FULL of sneaky price changes for 2024. On some dates, the starting price might be the same, but some parks may be MORE expensive in 2024 than in 2023. On other dates, the starting price might have gone UP but some parks might not have seen all that much of an increase. And on other dates, you might find significant increases (or even a decrease here and there).

The important thing is to price out a trip for 2024 and know that it likely will NOT cost you exactly the same as 2023. Be prepared to adjust those budgets as needed!
