Downtown Disney Parking Tips
You’ve heard of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, but did you know about the THIRD Disneyland “park”?
Downtown Disney District isn’t exactly a park — it doesn’t have roller coasters, and you usually won’t spot Mickey Mouse walking around. But it DOES have tons of fantastic restaurants and a whole bunch of gift shops, including both Disney and non-Disney stores. There are a few things to know before you visit, though, such as where and how to park once you arrive! Here are some key tips that will make your trip so much easier.
Where Is Downtown Disney Parking?
Let’s start with the basics. First, you need to know that Downtown Disney District Parking is at the Simba Lot.
This lot is located off Disneyland Drive, between West Katella Avenue and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
How Much Does It Cost To Park at Downtown Disney?
The first hour of parking at the Simba Lot costs $10.
Validations do apply after the first hour of paid parking. You can get three more hours of same-day parking with a $20-minimum purchase and validation from any Downtown Disney location. You can get up to five more hours of same-day parking with validation from any Downtown Disney sit-down (table service) restaurant. Be sure to ask for validation when you visit!
Note that restaurants and lounges at Disneyland Resort hotels do NOT validate for Downtown Disney District parking.
Beyond those validations, each extra hour past the first costs $14 (charged in 30-minute increments) with a minimum of $7. The maximum cost of daily parking (and lost ticket fee) is $66.
Parking is subject to capacity, so you may want to have a plan B in place just in case you visit on a particularly busy day.
Downtown Disney Disabled Parking
If you have a valid disabled parking placard or license plate, you can park in any available disabled-marked space, subject to space availability. The same parking rates apply ($10 for the first hour and $14 for each additional hour, with exceptions for validations).
If you have any specific parking needs — such as additional space to lower a wheelchair ramp or lift — you should ask a Cast Member for assistance.
Remember that you don’t necessarily have to drive to Downtown Disney. If you’re visiting one of the theme parks, you can park there and then walk over to Downtown Disney instead! And if you’re staying at one of the Disneyland hotels or another hotel within walking distance, it might be easiest to keep your car at your hotel and just walk to Downtown Disney
