RECORD-BREAKING Crowds Could Hit Orlando International Airport

Spring Break has officially arrived in Disney World — and with that comes CROWDS.

But the crowds aren’t just in the theme parks. You’ll also find crowds at Orlando International Airport, which has already seen one record-breaking day of Spring Break travel. However, the airport could see even MORE record-breaking crowds over this weekend.

According to Fox35 Orlando, airport officials have said they expect around 173,000 people to pass through the airport THIS WEEKEND ALONE.

Orlando International Airport can get crowded

The Spring Break travel season has already been a busy one. March 11th saw 95,000 passengers coming through the airport, which beat the record set in March 2019. Last weekend saw the second busiest day on Saturday, while Sunday had the third busiest day. This weekend, though, could outpace that by A LOT.

The airport expects some 7.3 million passengers to go through the airport during the Spring Break travel season, which started on March 4th and ends on April 18th.

So what can you do during this busy travel season? If you MUST travel, you’ll need to bring along a lot of patience. Lines will be long for just about everything at the airport, including security. That means you should give yourself plenty of time at the airport to get THROUGH security.

Right now, the suggested time you should arrive at Orlando International Airport is three hours before your flight. And hey, if for some reason you DO get through security quickly, that leaves you plenty of time to grab something to eat and relax before you board your flight.

However, you can get through security faster if you have TSA PreCheck or if you use Orlando International Airport’s FREE MCO Reserve which lets you go online and book a scheduled time to go through an exclusive security lane. This is offered at the airport for flights scheduled from 6:30AM to 8:30PM. You do need to reserve your spot 72 hours before your flight, though.
