Heads Up! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Is CLOSING for a Lengthy Refurb SOON

There is constantly some kind of construction, refurbishment, and re-imagining projects going on in Disney World.

We’re seeing construction for new restaurants pop up around the resort, we saw one ride close FOREVER to be re-imagined, and we’ve seen some rides close for refurbishment. Well, one POPULAR ride in Disney World is about to close for a LENGTHY refurbishment.

This is a reminder that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is set to close for a LONG refurbishment as of February 20th. That means you have exactly one week to ride the coaster before it’s unavailable to guests.

There is no reopening date yet, but when we spoke with a Cast Member, we were told that it would be closed until the summer of 2023. That means it will be down for at least several months.

The ride has been struggling recently — it’s been down a lot, including for several days in a row, so it’s likely the refurbishment will focus on whatever it is that has caused the closures. Back in 2022, we spoke with a Cast member who told us the ride hasn’t had a full refurbishment since the parks reopened in 2020, so it’s likely due it!
