Disney Unveils MORE Story Details About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Okay, who’s ready to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?

Tiana’s Foods

Well, we know we’ll all have to wait until 2024 while the Splash Mountain ride gets re-themed to the NEW ride based on The Princess and The Frog. We’ve already seen the first signs of construction, and although Disney has revealed part of the new ride’s storyline, we just recently got a few NEW details.

There are a few things we already knew about the storyline, including that several of the original voice actors from The Princess and The Frog will be reprising their roles for the ride, including Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Bruno Campos as Naveen, Michael-Leon Woodley as Louis, and Anika Noni Rose as Tiana.

We’ve also seen that the ride will have some new musical critters and they’re a BAND. You’ll see these animals when you first drop into the bayou and “encounter some friends both new and familiar.” We also learned that fireflies will light up the scenes “and invite you deeper into the bayou…almost like they’re waving you forward.” (Insert some tears here, while we think of Ray… .)

Of course, there’s also the story leading up to the ride through the bayou. It picks up after the events of The Princess and the Frog with Tiana continuing to grow her business, Tiana’s Foods. As a result, she’s bought and transformed an old salt mine with the help of her mother, Naveen, Louis, and fellow owners of the cooperative. The land around the salt mine has also been renewed and now grows veggies, herbs, and spices for her famous recipes.

But that’s not all because Disney just revealed that Tiana’s Foods is also releasing a new line of original hot sauces. (Okay, Disney, we want to be able to buy these hot sauces FOR REAL!)

As Disney previously announced, Tiana is throwing a HUGE Mardi Gras party as a thank you to everyone who helped her along the way, but — as things often go — something goes wrong. Something is missing. So Tiana invites guests over to Tiana’s Foods to help. But you’ll be going into the bayou to help Tiana out, and that’s where the adventure REALLY begins.

THE BIG DROP — Attraction Model

Disney writes: “Picking up where that story left off, Tiana continues bringing people together with Tiana’s Foods, another treasured meeting place to spend time together and celebrate a diverse community. Tiana is also working with cooperative members to teach gardening and cooking to children of all ages, and inspiring other women to run successful businesses as the brand grows nationwide.”

So that’s the backstory that leads to the ride that will be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We’ll keep an eye out for more on the new ride, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
