VIDEO: CHANGES Made to the Magic Kingdom Train!

Have you heard the exciting Disney World news?!

Walt Disney World Railroad train

The Walt Disney World Railroad REOPENED today in Magic Kingdom! That’s right — the Magic Kingdom train is finally BACK! We had the opportunity to ride the train as part of a Disney media event, so we got to check out a few major CHANGES in this popular attraction. Come with us to see how the railroad is different now than it was before its multi-year closure!

The Magic Kingdom train still circles the park, stopping at the three stations located around its route. But there are a few important changes that you should know about. First, Disney updated the tracks and engines to keep them in tip-top shape and make any needed repairs.

Looking sharp!

They announced that the Number 1 Engine got a complete refurbishment during the 2022 D23 Expo. The wooden railroad ties were replaced with composite ties as well!

The path now runs right through the construction site for TRON: Lightcycle Run — a roller coaster that’ll open in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland in the spring of 2023. There’s a tunnel for the train to run through, but you can see part of the construction on the other end.

The most noticeable change might be the new narration on this attraction. Disney announced that the train has a new conductor, who tells stories and points out landmarks along the route. Of course, the ride begins with the standard safety announcements, but the voice is new!

We are so excited to be able to ride the train again and the updates are great! So be sure to hop on the Walt Disney World Railroad during your next Disney World visit!
