The One Disney World Ride Where You Can’t Avoid Disney Adults

Disney adults…go to Disney World and they’re EVERYWHERE!

Magic Kingdom

We’re not really ones to talk though, I mean, we’re all technically Disney adults here at DFB! But if you’re reading this, we’re willing to bet that you’re just like us. And if you want to find some like-minded Disney fans in the parks, there are a few specific rides that you should hit up during your trip!

If you hop in line for Dumbo the Flying Elephant or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, chances are that you’ll find a bunch of families with kiddos since those rides don’t have height requirements. Disney is a place for all, so of course, kiddos are all around! But if you’re looking for rides that appeal more to Disney adults, then you probably need to head for those high-thrill experiences!

Magic Kingdom

Let’s start out at Magic Kingdom, where the Disney adults can be found waiting in line at Space Mountain! This coaster plunges you into darkness, which can often be a little too intense for younger visitors. You’ll navigate a series of twists and turns — none of which you’ll actually be able to see. Thrilling!

Space Mountain

We also selected an honorable mention for Magic Kingdom, and that’s the upcoming TRON Lightcycle Run coaster that’s being constructed next door to Space Mountain! The ride will open in spring 2023 and it’s going to be a copy of the coaster that’s currently in Shanghai Disneyland.

We can’t wait to check out this high-speed bike-style coaster when it opens. We know it’s going to be VERY popular for a while!

EPCOT

Moving on to EPCOT, you’ll find a lot of grownups at the newest ride in Disney World — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This omnicoaster has a reverse launch, a fantastic soundtrack, and features some of the most beloved Marvel heroes. A trifecta of awesomeness to make it super popular!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

But if you don’t find Disney adults there, they’ll likely be found at EPCOT’s most intense ride — Mission: SPACE next door. This honorable mention features a simulator that makes it seem like you’re launching into space. It’s so intense that the Orange (more intense) Mission comes with paper bags in the seats…just in case you get sick.

Mission: SPACE

Mission: SPACE may not be the most popular choice of ride for Disney adults, but you’re definitely not finding very many little ones aboard these ships!

Hollywood Studios

Moving on to Hollywood Studios, we’ve got one of the most popular rides in Disney World, Rise of the Resistance! This Star Wars attraction has been VERY busy since it opened in 2019 and it has a height requirement due to some of the more thrilling parts of the ride system. It’s basically a magnet for Star Wars fans!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Our honorable mention is another ride with a massive fanbase — Tower of Terror! This drop tower will get your blood pumping with its series of random drops and raises. It’s not for everyone, but those who love it…REALLY love it!

Hollywood Studios is a big draw for thrill ride lovers, considering you can also check out Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Slinky Dog Dash. Lots of rides for Disney adults!

Animal Kingdom

And finally, we come to Animal Kingdom, where we have to talk about Expedition Everest. This coaster is one of Disney World’s most intense, with an 80-food drop and a section of the ride where you fly backward in the dark. And if that doesn’t spook you, the yeti sure will!

Expedition Everest

Our honorable mention at Animal Kingdom is Flight of Passage in Pandora! This ride opened up in 2017 and almost always has a long line due to the impressive tech and stunning scenery. You’ll need to meet the height requirement in order to board the bicycle-style seat, so this one is more popular with grown-ups.

Flight of Passage

So there you go — the rides in the parks where you won’t be able to avoid Disney adults! You’ll also find Disney adults at some of the more nostalgic rides — things like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spaceship Earth, and more. Basically, they’re all over the place in Disney World!
