The Complete Guide to Eating at Disney’s Old Key West Resort

There is just SO much good food in Disney World, it’s hard to decide where to eat. However, if you’re staying at a hotel, you might want to know about your options there.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Let’s face it, once you’re at your Disney World hotel, you might not want to travel too far for food. So you’ll want to know about the best options there, right? Well, if you’re staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, we’ve put together the ultimate guide for where you should eat — and drink!

First, we’re going to warn you — the pickings at Old Key West Resort are SLIM. There aren’t a lot of dining options to be had there. If you don’t see something you think you’d like in this guide, you do have other options, though. You’re only a quick boat ride away from Disney Springs, which is BURSTING with a variety of dining options.

Old Key West is just a boat’s ride away from Disney Springs

However, if you don’t want to leave Old Key West, here’s what you can choose from:

Good’s Food to Go

Good’s Food to Go is the counter-service option at Old Key West. You’ll find it near the resort’s main pool area and its offerings include standard counter-service fare like burgers, chicken nuggets, nachos, etc. It’s got a very Key West pool vibe and you’ll hear Calypso music playing in the background here.

Breakfast offerings are the standard breakfast sandwiches, but you can also grab some Mickey Waffles here (who doesn’t want Mickey waffles for breakfast?). The lunch and dinner menus have a Mango Rum-barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich that has a tropical flare. The Kettle Chip Loaded Nachos, made with House-made Fried Chips topped with Barbecued Pulled Pork, Cheese Sauce, Salsa, and Sour Cream is a crowd-pleaser.

It’s al fresco dining here

However, you’ll often find some good seasonal snacks here and if they have the Key Lime Swirl Dole Whip, GET IT.

Turtle Shack

If you find yourself over in the Turtle Pond area of Old Key West Resort, you can pop by Turtle Shack for some quick snacks. This counter-service location IS seasonal, so it won’t always be open (check the My Disney Experience app before you make the trek over there).

However, you might be surprised that there are some good options for food here, including that Mango Rum-barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich and Loaded Nachos. If you’re looking for something to drink, grab a beer or frozen cocktail to eat poolside.

Gurgling Suitcase

If you’re looking for a hidden gem  of a bar at Old Key West, you’ve come to the right spot. The Gurgling Suitcase is a cozy little spot to relax, drink up, and forget all your troubles. You’ll find a good variety of specialty cocktails here, like the Key West Freeze made with SVEDKA Vodka and Bols Melon Liqueur blended with flavors of Coconut, Pineapple, and Strawberry.

More importantly, though, you can order from the brunch and dinner menu at Olivia’s Cafe (and we’ll be getting to that in a bit). So if you can’t get into Olivia’s, be sure to consider hopping over to this bar as your backup plan.

Olivia’s Cafe

If you’re going to make time to eat anywhere at Disney’s Old Key West, Olivia’s Cafe is a must. It’s one of the best-kept secrets in Disney World (although Disney Vacation Club members — whose photos line the walls of the cafe — have known about it for years!). Think of an island cafe with food inspired by Southern classics and the Florida Keys.

First up is brunch — yep, you can get brunch here daily. We’ll just tell you now to be sure to order the Spam-Cheddar Biscuits, which are served with White Gravy and Drizzled with HoneyYes, spam is REALLY good, especially with delicious flaky AND CHEESY biscuits. There are also solid egg options here, as well as Banana Bread Pudding.

For lunch and dinner, the standout here is the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken, served with Mashed Potatoes, Southern Gravy, Biscuit, and Seasonal Vegetables. This might be some of the best fried chicken in Disney World — there, we said it.

For plant-based eaters, the West Indian Tofu and Coconut Curry is also worth a trip to Olivia’s. It’s made with Tofu in a Creamy Caribbean Curry with Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Marinated Tomatoes, Broccolini, Edamame, Red Pepper, and Cilantro.

Be sure to save room for dessert, because many guests who have stopped by here sing the praises of the Key Lime Tart, served with Mango and Raspberry Sauce.

That’s it — those are all the options you have for food and drinks at Old Key West, but as we previously mentioned, you are just a boat ride away from Disney Springs if you’re staying here. If not, you might still want to consider popping into Olivia’s — it’s a guest favorite for a reason!

If you are planning on dining at Olivia’s Cafe, be sure to make an advance dining reservation! If that fails, you’ll have to check to see if the Walk-Up Waitlist has any availability — remember you can still head on over to the Gurgling Suitcase to order from Olivia’s menu, too!
