Important Rule Added to Disneyland Website

If you’re heading to a Disney park, it’s important that you read up on the rules for the parks and laws for the state you’ll be visiting.

While you might have been to the parks before, you should check back for updates closer to your trip because rules and regulations can change. Recently, we saw Disney World add an important WARNING to their website, advising guests that they could be kicked out for failure to follow a specific rule. Now, it seems Disneyland’s website has been updated with a similar notice.

The Disney World website now contains a Courtesy notice. This notice advises guests that they “must always remember to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. Those who can’t live up to this simple wish may be asked to leave Walt Disney World Resort.”

A similar (but different) Courtesy notice has been added to the Disneyland website.

The Disney World Courtesy notice says “be the magic you want to see in the world” underneath the Courtesy notice image. The Disneyland one, on the other hand, says “We ask all who come to this happy place to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion.”

The Disney World notice has the information included above, about asking guests to leave if they cannot live up to the simple wish of treating others with respect and kindness. While the Disneyland version has a somewhat similar feel, the language is different.

The Disneyland version simply says “We ask all who come to this happy place to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. To help Guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, we regularly update our Disneyland Resort rules.”

Interestingly, the Disneyland version doesn’t have specifications about asking people to leave if they don’t follow this rule, but presumably, Disney would or could enforce this rule in that same way.

When you click the “View Disneyland Resort Rules” portion underneath the Courtesy notice, you can see more rules for the parks on the West Coast. One rule states, “Please show common courtesy to fellow Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior, jumping lines or saving places in lines for others. For your safety and the safety of others, please refrain from running.”

The key takeaway here is that Disney has updated both the Disney World and Disneyland websites to include a Courtesy notice. Though the language differs a bit, the message is similar — guests are being reminded (and WARNED) to be kind and courteous to those around them. This is an important rule to remember as you make your way through the parks, especially during busy seasons when stress levels are high and crowd levels are higher.
