The ICONIC Hatbox Ghost Will Join the Haunted Mansion in Disney World!
Welcome, foolish mortals.
The Haunted Mansion
It doesn’t matter which Disney Park you go to — Disney World OR Disneyland — those three words probably bring back some iconic memories of the Haunted Mansion. But those Haunted Mansions are not the same. Only one of those has the iconic Hatbox Ghost figure, but look alive…because that’s ALL about to change!
Now there’s a whole story about the history of the Hatbox Ghost we won’t get into, but basically this figure was something in the ORIGINAL Haunted Mansion that never quite worked right (remind you of a certain Yeti?). However, Imagineers figured it out, got it working properly, and it was added to the Disneyland version of Haunted Mansion in 2015.

However, Disney World did not get the iconic figure. But NOW, Hatbox Ghost is set to offer his own brand of ghoulish delight to guests in Disney World in 2023!
It’s happening! The Hatbox Ghost will materialize at the Haunted Mansion in 2023 in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort!

Honestly, this was one of our biggest complaints about the Disney World version of the ride (the other is that we don’t get Haunted Mansion Holiday, but we’ll save that for another day).
