What’s New at EPCOT: Construction Continues at ‘Moana’ Attraction
Greetings, world travelers!
A lot is going on at EPCOT, lately! The 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is finally in full swing as the remaining food booths opened recently, and construction is chugging along on the park-wide EPCOT transformation, too. Today, we’re heading to EPCOT to bring you all the latest updates from this park!
EPCOT Construction Updates
Rose & Crown
Rose & Crown is a restaurant in the UK Pavilion in World Showcase. When we were in the park recently, we noticed that it had a new menu sign!
The sign used to be a dark green color, and now it’s bright blue.
Mitsukoshi
Mitsukoshi is the store located in the Japan pavilion in World Showcase. This store has been undergoing some construction recently, so we stopped by to get an update.
We spoke to a Cast Member who told us that the construction is just some new floors and that the store is doing a little bit of remodeling. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any more construction that may take place here.
Journey of Water — Inspired by ‘Moana’
We also checked up on construction progress for Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana.
We’ve been seeing rock work cropping up for some time now, and it looks like progress is continuing with that, with scaffolding covering much of the rocks. To the left, you can also see some blue pylons on the ground, as well. As a reminder, Disney still has not shared an opening date for this walkthrough attraction.

General EPCOT Updates
When we were at EPCOT recently, we noticed that Soarin’ Around the World was once again testing a single rider line.
The single rider line is something that is being tested at this ride during slower periods but has not become an official offering yet. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any developments.
We also spotted a unique character at EPCOT recently! Daisy Duck was out meeting and greeting guests in her chef’s outfit.
We’ve seen Chef Daisy in EPCOT before, but this is definitely a more rare character sighting, and just goes to show ya that you should keep your eyes peeled at the parks because you never know who you might spot!

EPCOT Merchandise Updates
Mitsukoshi
When we stopped by Mitsukoshi to check out the construction, we noticed that there was a new beverage cooler in the store, as well.
This fridge is filled with cold drinks, perfect if you’re looking for something to quench your thirst after being out in the Florida heat.
Italy Pavilion
At the Italy pavilion, we spotted this Limoncello shot glass.
It has some lemons on it and says “Adoro il Limoncello Italy.” It is $9.99.
Creations Shop
At the Creations Shop, we spotted some Halloween merch! First up, we saw some Halloween phone cases for $34.99 each. There was this case with an all-over Halloween print…
…and this one that had Mickey dressed as a pumpkin standing in front of a spooky Halloween castle.
We also saw some Halloween Apple Watch bands. There were $36.99 each. We saw this band that has the same allover and Castle prints as the phone cases…
…and this band that shows Mickey dressed up for Halloween with some pumpkins, ghosts, a tree, and some candy! Both the phone cases and the watch bands have also been seen in Magic Kingdom.
We also saw this Buzz Lightyear Apple Watch band for $36.99.
On the hunt for new pins to add to your collection? We saw a couple new ones at Creations! First up is this Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter and March Hare Pin for $12.99. The pin shows the Mad Hatter and March Hare enjoying a tea party.
We also saw this Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit Pin, too. On the pin, the White Rabbit is rushing out the door, so he must be late for a very important date. The pin is $12.99.
And the final new piece of merchandise we saw was this Ratatouille Annual Passholder Magnet!
This magnet shows Remy wearing his chef’s hat and reading a cookbook with the word “Passholder” spelled out with various ingredients. This magnet can only be purchased by Annual Passholders and is $14.99.

And that’s what’s new at EPCOT! If you’re heading to Disney World soon, there’s a lot going on! Halloween is in full swing at the parks, with orange decorations all over Main Street, U.S.A. (yes, Mickey pumpkins have finally made their return!), and of course, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Aside from Halloween festivities, there’s almost always something new happening! For example, a shop that’s been closed for some time due to supply chain issues has finally reopened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and three behind-the-scenes tours are returning to EPCOT! We’re always on the hunt for Disney World news, so make sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
