NEWS: COVID-19 Testing Policy Is CHANGING for the Disney Cruise Line

To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.

Slowly but surely, more and more COVID-related travel restrictions are being lifted.

Disney Wish

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ended its cruise ship monitoring program, and many of the major cruise lines have modified or scrapped their testing protocols altogether. Now, it looks like you may have to jump through fewer hoops when it comes to COVID testing to finally set sail on that Disney cruise you’ve been planning. We’re sharing everything you need to know about the Disney Cruise Line COVID-19 testing changes.

Disney Cruise Line has updated its COVID-19 testing policy yet again, after recently announcing that only guests 12 and older were required to be fully vaccinated against the virus at the time of sailing.

Disney Wish

Now, starting on September 23rd, 2022, fully vaccinated guests sailing on the Disney Dream, Fantasy, Wish, and Wonder are no longer required to participate in COVID-19 testing in order to sail. For the Disney Magic, this change will begin on November 7th, 2022.

Guests who are not fully vaccinated will still need to provide proof of negative test taken 1 to 3 days prior to sailing — but won’t be required to take a second test at the terminal on embarkation day.

This change may make it just a bit easier for you to set sail on your Disney cruise — but be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line website for information about your particular cruise before heading to the terminal. Don’t forget to stay tuned to DFB for the latest cruise news and more!
