Gas Prices DROP in Florida to Lowest Levels in MONTHS
Driving to Disney World is a gamble right now.
With flight cancellations and fluctuating airfare costs, you might think that driving to Disney World is your best bet right now. But gas prices have been all over the place during the last few months. We’ve seen some HUGE increases and significant decreases. So just what do gas prices look like right now in Florida? Well, we have some good news.
According to data from AAA, the average cost of gas in the State of Florida as of August 8th, 2022 is $3.776. That’s lower than what we saw heading into August, lower than the prices in July, and in fact lower than the prices we’ve seen for MANY months.
Back in February of 2022, the average cost was around $3.50 per gallon. Things increased dramatically after that time, reaching $4.891 as the highest recorded average price, according to AAA. That high point was reached on June 13th, 2022.
For the last few weeks, we had seen average gas prices going down. But at the start of August, the price was $3.884. Now, it seems gas prices have fallen even further.
Orange County, Florida (one of the counties within which Disney World is located) has a current average gas price of $3.727.
Osceola County, Florida (another county within which Disney World is located) has an average gas price cost of $3.713.
As you venture through your own state and other counties within the state of Florida, the gas prices can vary, but at least it seems that prices in Florida are dropping.
The national average gas price has also seen a decrease. In early August, that number was around $4.163. As of August 8th, that has gone down to $4.059.
While it might just be a matter of cents for now, those cents can add up dramatically and really make a difference in your gas/driving budget for your upcoming trips. Just keep in mind that gas prices can continue to change, so you’ll want to set aside enough money in your budget to account for any potential increases.
Looking for ways to save this summer when driving (or flying) to Disney World? When it comes to gas, try to see if you can combine your outings into one or limit where you go when on vacation so you can limit your driving time. You can also try to use applications on your phone or websites to search for gas stations with the lowest prices near you.
When it comes to flight prices, those seem to be dropping for now too, but it’s complicated. As we get further into the year, the holiday season and other factors could cause prices to increase once again, so NOW may be the time to buy those airline tickets.
To save money at Disney World, you can also take advantage of current discounts and deals on hotel stays, tickets, dining, and more.
