The 5 Best Things to Do in Disney World in July

It’s JULY, everyone! Can you believe it? 2022 is already halfway OVER!

American Adventure

July in Disney World means a few obvious things — 1) It’s super duper hot outside 2) It will probably rain at some point 3) There are a LOT of people in the parks! But, there are also several other important things happening in Disney World this month that you might’ve forgotten about. So, let’s talk about the BEST things to do in Disney World in July!

Celebrate the 4th of July

Obviously one of the best things to do in Disney World this month is to celebrate the 4th of July! Disney World is sure to be busy on the holiday, so you gotta make sure you have a plan. Both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will have special fireworks shows on July 3rd and 4th to celebrate Independence Day.

On July 3rd and 4th, you can watch “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” in Magic Kingdom at 9:20PM. This means the Enchantment fireworks will not be happening on these two nights.

Over in EPCOT, the 4th of July fireworks are also making a return this year! The show in the past was a short event that followed the main fireworks show called “The Heartbeat of Freedom.” Disney just has EPCOT’s celebration listed as the 4th of July fireworks right now, so we’ll have to wait and see what the show is like. But, you can probably expect it to take place right after EPCOT’s Harmonious fireworks show that runs at 9PM.

Other things you can do for the 4th of July in Disney World include checking out some new merchandise or checking out all of the fun food! We have a FULL list of all of the festive eats and treats in the parks, resorts, and over at Disney Springs that you can take a look at to make sure you’re prepared. We have also reviewed tons of these new eats on the site!!

Don’t forget that July 4th is also the LAST day of EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival, so it’s your last chance to take in all of those floral flavors before Food and Wine Festival arrives.

Visit the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival kicks off of July 14th and runs ALL the way until November 19th this year. And, this year’s festival should be pretty exciting! The Eat to the Beat Concert Series is making its return, along with its dining packages.

There are also over 25 Global Marketplace Food Booths that you can check out, including many returning favorites, but there are also new things to try! The Fry Basket is a new booth that will feature items like Adobo Yuca Fries and a Salty Dog Cocktail.

There are also some fun new food items like the Mini Pina Colada Funnel Cake coming to the Funnel Cake spot, Oysters Rockefeller at Coastal Eats, and SPAM Musubi Nigiri at the Hawai’i booth.

Watch TWO Fireworks Shows in Magic Kingdom

Also starting on July 14th, the Enchantment fireworks show has two showtimes listed in Magic Kingdom. You can catch it at 9:20PM (its usually scheduled time) and again at 11PM. That’s right — two fireworks shows in ONE night, y’all!

Disney Enchantment

But, you gotta hurry to catch this special double feature, because on July 25th, the fireworks are back to only one showtime per night at 9:20PM. This is great news for the people who want to catch the early showing and then peace out to go to bed, or the people who want to go on rides during the first showing and watch the later show. And, of course, there are those fireworks fans who will be watching both showings in the same night (definitely us!).

Check Out the Reopened Harmony Barber Shop

The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom is FINALLY reopening this month! It will be back on July 31st. The spot has been closed ever since Disney World shut down due to the global pandemic back in 2020.

Harmony Barber Shop

The Barber Shop offers beard trims, haircuts for both adults and children, and the popular “My First Haircut” experience. This is when kids get their first haircut and also receive a commemorative pair of Mickey ears, an official milestone certificate, and a keepsake lock of hair.

The pricing has changed at the Barber Shop since we last saw it open in 2020. An Adult Haircut starts at $21, a Child’s Haircut starts at $20, the My First Haircut experience starts at $28, and a Beard Trim starts at $8. These prices are a bit higher than the ones we saw in 2020.

Harmony Barber Shop

You can make a reservation for the Harmony Barber Shop online right now through the Disney World website or on the  My Disney Experience app. Reservations are highly recommended, but a limited number of walk-in spaces will be available each day on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Taste the New Salt & Straw Flavors

Salt & Straw, a new ice cream place, opened up in Disney Springs not too long ago and it brought with it some super fun ice cream flavors! You’ve got some of your traditional flavors here, but they are known for more unique offerings like Honey Lavender and Chocolate Gooey Brownie. What’s awesome about this spot is that they also get NEW flavors each month!

ALL the ice cream!

Last month, we tried out ice cream flavors like Cinnamon and Honey Fried Chicken and Deviled Egg Custard with Smoked Black Tea. And this month, we’re getting some intriguing flavors once again! This month is The Berries, Berries, Berries Series and you can get Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero, Birthday Cakes & Blackberries, Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie, Boysenberry Oat Milk Sherbet, and Besharam’s Yogurt Lasso w/ Raspberries!
