A French Fry Flight and 7 More New EPCOT Food and Wine Items We Can’t Wait To Try

French fries, and spam, and margaritas, oh my! The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is just around the corner and we are very excited for what this year has to offer.

We love an EPCOT Festival

As in years past, the menus and booths for this festival feature some oldies and goodies, plus some brand new options, too! We’ve rounded up some of the new items we’re most excited to try when the festival kicks off this year, but be warned: reading this might make you very hungry. Let’s dive in!

Fry Flight — The Fry Basket

Okay, but real talk: what’s not to love about a literal french fry flight? The Fry Basket is a brand new booth at this year’s festival and we’re already obsessed. The Fry Flight comes three different types of french fries:

  • Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries (Plant-based)
  • Barbecued Bacon Fries with smoked aïoli
  • Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream, and caramel whisky

We don’t know which fries sound best, but we can’t wait to try them all.

Chesapeake Crab Slider — Hops & Barley

We think the Chesapeake Crab Slider with tangy coleslaw and Cajun remoulade sounds delicious! Over the past few years, the menu at Hops & Barley has included a New England Lobster Roll, but lobster has been disappearing around Disney World, so it’s been replaced this year with crab.

Hops & Barley is also home to some good beer options (it IS in the name) and a delicious carrot cake.

Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese — The Alps

The Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese was one of our favorite things at the festival last year, and now it’s had some changes!

This year, the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese comes with Riesling-poached pears, red wine-braised figs, candied pecans, honey, and cranberry toast. YUM! We’re looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against raclettes of year’s past.

SPAM Musubi Nigiri — Hawai’i

Okay, stay with us on this one. We know it sounds a little out there, but we think it has some serious potential to be amazing. It’s SPAM Musubi Nigiri with sushi rice, teriyaki-glazed SPAM, spicy mayonnaise, eel sauce, and nori.

Unfortunately, we won’t get to try it straight away because Hawai’i is one of the Food and Wine Festival booths that isn’t opening until August 15th, so we’ll need to wait a little bit before we can get our SPAM fix.

Blood Orange Charm Margarita — Mexico

The Blood Orange Char Margarita is Centinela Blanco Tequila, blood orange aperitif, blackcurrant-infused vodka, and prosecco served on the rocks with pink peppercorns and sweet-dried-chile salt rim.

Mexico Booth Menu Items 2021

We admit it, it sounds like there’s a lot going on here, but we think it could be good, and we’re excited to give it a try!

Chicken Tikka Masala — India

The Food and Wine Festival Chicken Tikka Masala comes with fennel-spiced yogurt and naan bread and sounds delicious!

We also think that the Potato and Pea Samosas from the India booth sound pretty good, too. They’re served with a coriander-lime cream.

Rocky Road Chocolate Cake — Flavors From Fire

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Chocolate cake with marshmallows, spiced almonds, and chocolate ganache? We’re so there.

This booth is also home to the Swine Brine drink, which we’ve had in years past, and is a slightly bizarre experience as it’s Jim Beam Bourbon, mustard, and apple cider topped with a little piece of meat, but we think it’s worth a try.

Mini Piña Colada Funnel Cake — Funnel Cakes

Funnel cakes are a theme park classic, but add some tropical flavors to it and you’ve got something worth trying. It’s a Mini Piña Colada Funnel Cake with piña colada ice cream, whipped cream, toasted coconut, and maraschino cherry drizzled with coconut-rum sauce.

This is the only Food and Wine Festival item available at this booth this year.

And those are eight new things we’re looking forward to trying at the Food and Wine Festival this year! The festival beings on July 14th and we’ll be trying all of the new items and bringing you our thoughts. Another fun part of the festival is the Eat to the Beat Concert Series at the America Gardens Theater. You can click here to check out what bands and performers will be playing each day.
