The 5 Best Airport Lounges in the US
We’ve found all the best restaurants in Disney World, along with some pretty great lounges. We know where to get snacks, desserts, and drinks in the parks and at the hotels! But what if you need a break and a meal en route to your Disney World vacation?
We’re stepping away from Disney World for a minute to find the BEST airport lounges in the US! Check out these luxurious hang-outs to find your next must-visit spot at some of the country’s most popular airports. Whether you need a quiet place to work during a layover, a quick drink between flights, or even a spa treatment (), some of these lounges seriously have it all.
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at the John F. Kennedy International Airport
This clubhouse, located at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, is home to modern decor and luxurious amenities. There’s complimentary 5-star dining including entrées, tapas, and breakfast items (they recommend the famous Clubhouse Burger), along with free drinks at the bar.
And you’ll also find a whole entertainment area, which has a pool table, games, and a big red ball sofa. We’re not totally sure what a red ball sofa is, but we think we might need one in our house now. Members can also find showers to freshen up before or after a flight, and there’s a luggage checking service so you don’t have to cart your suitcase around the lounge.
If this sounds like the spot for you, make note that only people who fit into one of these categories can access the lounge:
- Passengers traveling in Virgin Atlantic Upper Class
- Flying Club Gold members traveling with us
- Passengers traveling in Delta One
- Delta SkyMiles Diamond Medallion cardholders*
- Delta SkyMiles Platinum Medallion cardholders*
- Delta SkyMiles Gold Medallion cardholders*
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Elite Gold members and PPS cardholders*
- Flying Blue Platinum cardholders*
- Flying Blue Gold cardholders*
- Virgin Australia Velocity Club Gold cardholders*
- Virgin Australia Velocity Club Platinum cardholders*
- Virgin Australia Velocity The Club cardholders*
The starred groups only qualify when flying on a Virgin Atlantic–operated flight.
The Oneworld Lounge at the Los Angeles International Airport
On the opposite coast, you’ll find the Oneworld Lounge at the Los Angeles International Airport. This lounge has plenty of space for work or hanging out, with the main feature being a large indoor fire pit with circular couches all around it.
There’s a business center here, and members also have access to free WiFi, showers, and several televisions.
You can head up to the bar to grab a drink, or choose from a variety of snacks, meals, and small plates if you’re hungry!
Access is given to eligible customers traveling on any Oneworld member airline, including the following:
- American Airlines
- British Airways
- Cathay Pacific
- Finnair
- Iberia
- Japan Airlines

Guests must be Business Class, First Class, Sapphire Tier, or Emerald Tier to access the lounge.
The Star Alliance Lounge at the Los Angeles International Airport
But Oneworld isn’t the only luxurious lounge at Los Angeles. The Star Alliance Lounge also made our list, with an outdoor terrace featuring views of the Hollywood hills and a waterfall!
This spot also has a bar with complimentary cocktails as well as some snacks and light bites. Shower suites are also available if you wanted to clean up between flights.
For an even MORE exclusive experience, there’s a separate First Class lounge, which offers more personalized service and a private area for First Class passengers. This lounge has a few more dining options as well, including a la carte entrées.
You can pay to access this lounge by buying passes on the Star Alliance website. But anyone belonging to these groups can get into the lounge for free:
- International First Class Customers of any Star Alliance member airline
- International Business Class Customers of any Star Alliance member airline
- Domestic First Class Customers of any Star Alliance member airline
- Domestic Business Class Customers of any Star Alliance member airline

The Turkish Airlines Lounge at the Dulles International Airport
Maybe the most impressive lounge on this list in terms of appearances is the Turkish Airlines Lounge at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia.
This lounge has a buffet with hot and cold menu items along with a selection of sodas and bottled water. You can also head to the bar to find complimentary cocktails.
There are amenities like free WiFi, outlets, and a shower room as well.
Wondering who can get into the fancy lounge? This spot is open to any Star Alliance Gold members who are flying on a Star Alliance-operated flight. In addition, international business class and first class passengers on Star Alliance airlines or Priority Pass members can head here as well.
The Lufthansa First Class Wining and Dining Lounge at the John F. Kennedy International Airport
Back to New York for the last lounge on our list! The Lufthansa First Class Wining and Dining Lounge at the John F. Kennedy International Airport is considered a top-notch lounge by several sources.
This lounge is a whopping 1,472 square meters, and it features a fairly extensive buffet and selection of drinks (all complimentary). The website also lists amenities like “inspirational reading material, a fine cigar of your choice, and special spa and wellness services.”
To access this lounge, passengers need to be flying First Class on a Lufthansa flight or with one of its Star Alliance partners.
BONUS: The American Airlines Admirals Club in the Orlando International Airport
Of course, we had to mention a lounge at the Orlando International Airport! If you’re looking to plan a quick moment to relax once you land in Orlando, the American Airlines Admirals Club isn’t a bad place to do it.
This spot has complimentary food and drinks, a full-service bar, and free WiFi! The food menu changes between the morning and afternoon, so expect breakfast items (like eggs, oatmeal, fruit, and muffins) in the morning and more substantial eats (like sliders, tacos, sandwiches, and soup) in the afternoon.
