REVIEW: You’ll Need To WORK To Eat Disneyland’s New Milkshake!
There’s never a dull moment when eating your way around Disneyland!
Recently, we’ve been filling up on the new Main Street Electrical Parade-themed eats but we’ve also tried some other…interesting eats like the cheesy pickle corn dog (?) and a strange Unicorn ice cream treat. And, with the turn of the calendar to a new month, we’re checking out one popular treat shop that has TWO new specials!
For this one, we’re headed over to Schmoozies! in Disney California Adventure to pick up the newest shake concoctions — the Confetti Cake Shake and the Banana Split Mickey Mouse Shake!
If a Confetti Cake Shake sounds a little over-the-top, we can confirm — it totally is, but true cake and shake connoisseurs won’t care one bit. This new shake is giving Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer in Downtown Disney and Beaches and Cream in Disney World a run for their money as it’s a vanilla cupcake flavored shake with whipped topping and an ENTIRE slice of cake on top!
And true to its name, the shake tasted just like a vanilla cupcake in ice cream form! We weren’t sure exactly what to expect from the cake on top, but it was sweet and moist — perfect for dipping in the milkshake! Now, you’re getting two desserts in one here, and…well…you’re going to have to pay for it. The shake costs $12.99 which makes it the most expensive on the menu right now.
Next up we’ve got the Banana Split Mickey Mouse Shake! This photogenic Mickey-inspired treat is a strawberry-banana shake, with whipped topping, chocolate sauce, peanuts, and creme-filled chocolate cookies that make Mickey ears!
This one ended up being our favorite but you’re going to have to love the strawberry banana combo to enjoy it. The strawberry banana flavor was stronger than the chocolate so it gave it more of a fruity shake with just a hint of chocolate taste. The nuts also added a great crunch, though you’ll have to do some maneuvering to get them off the rim. We suggest picking up a spoon so that you can scoop them off rather than trying to strategically bite them off.
This was $9.49, and we would definitely go back and get this one again!
These two shakes are seasonal offerings, so you’ll need to head on over to Schmoozies! to try them soon. And, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more sweet new treats in Disneyland, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
