REVIEW: The Only St. Patrick’s Day Party You Need To Know About in Disney World

It feels like 2022 just began, but we’re already in March — and it’s time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

The Mighty Festival is here!

There are lots of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Disney World, but one location in Disney Springs has a HUGE event you won’t want to miss. We’re talking food, entertainment — it’s got it all. Check it out here!

In Disney Springs, Raglan Road hosts the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival every year to celebrate “the mother of all Irish holidays.” This year the festival is taking place from March 11th through the 17th. That’s a full week of St. Patrick’s Day fun! We visited Raglan Road to check out all the festivities, and we found a lot of fun! First, there was a live band playing Irish music…

Live Music!

…and we also got to see the super talented Raglan Road dancers!

These dancers always impress us!

Of course, who are we if we don’t check out all the special St. Patrick’s Festival food?! Raglan Road features an exclusive menu for the Mighy Festival every year and this year it is FILLED with tasty bites (and GREEN drinks!). Many of these items are already on Raglan Road’s menu, but both cocktails featured on the menu are available only during the festival.

And, we also got to preview two dishes that will be coming to Raglan Road in a few weeks while we were there — The Smoked Pulled Brisket and The Salmon Who Salsas.

Festival Menu

We started with the Paddy’s Mighty, which is made with Dingled Gin, Muddled Cucumber, Basil Simple, Lemon Juice, and Egg White. And, let us tell you, this drink is GOOD! We often find that green cocktails tend to be a bit more sour and are made with Sour Apple Pucker or Midori, but not this one! Instead, this simple drink is nice and fresh and the taste of the cucumber really comes through, while the lime balances out everything without being too tart. This is definitely on the top of our list if you’re looking to sip on a green drink this St. Patrick’s Day!

When it comes to food, the Smoked Pulled Brisket is made with Irish Milk and Dubliner Cheddar Cheese Bread, Caramelized Onion Puree, and Charred Sweetcorn Salsa. We liked the cornbread on the bottom, but we wish the cheese were…well…CHEESIER, because the bread is just a little dry on its own. But, the brisket itself was tender and had a great smoky flavor.

Our favorite dish of the meal though was the Now You’re Talkin’ Chicken Sandwich! It’s Fried buttermilk chicken breast, hot sauce, scallions, shredded pickled slaw, truffle aioli, and grated parmesan. There are so many flavors and textures going on here and somehow, it all just works. You get a nice crunch from the slaw and the breading on the chicken and then you get the flavor of the truffle on the bottom. And, with the hot sauce, it’s SO GOOD.

This Shepherd Went Vegan also surprised us. It’s made with Faro barley, carrots, wild mushrooms, green onion, peas and rutabaga topped with olive oil mashed potato with a burnt onion gravy. It’s packed with so much flavor that it even pleased meat lovers like us. That being said, we did miss the taste of butter in the mashed potatoes, but this is, overall, a solid vegan choice!

Next up is the Salmon Who Salsas which is a Roasted Atlantic Salmon Filet on Boxty Potato and Celery Root Puree with a Smoked Salmon, Apple, Grape, Caper, and Almond Salsa. Whew — that is a lot going on there. But believe it or not, it works. The oil from the salmon complements the boxty potato (which is kind of like a potato au gratin without the cheese), you get an earthy note from the celery root puree, and the salsa is citrusy and vinegary but matched well with salmon.

And, there’s plenty more to check out on the menu for St. Patrick’s Day this year too! So, if you’re looking for a fun and lively way to celebrate, head on over to Raglan Road! Reservations are encouraged, and you can visit Raglan Road’s website to book your table!

Of course, we’ll continue to bring you a look at all the latest specialty menus and dining updates in Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
