The Disney Recipe That’ll Impress Your Friends and Family This Holiday!
It’s our professional opinion that one of the best parts of the holidays is the food!
There are so many amazing holiday snacks, and sharing a meal with loved ones is one of the best parts of the season! If you don’t have a signature holiday dish that you bring to the table every year, then you’re in luck! D23 had you covered with a new holiday recipe!
D23 just gave us this Jewish Apple Cake recipe, and we can’t wait to try it!
Even better, it’s surprisingly easy to make — it only LOOKS complicated! Here’s what you’ll need!
Ingredients:
- 6 medium apples (Gala, Fuji, Honey Crisp, or Granny Smith apples)
- 5 tbsp granulated sugar
- 11/2 tsp cinnamon
- 23/4 cups of all-purpose flour – sifted
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
You’ll also need a Tube or bundt cake pan!
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°
- Peel the apples, core them, and slice them as thin as you like!
- Combine the sugar and cinnamon, then add it to the apples
- In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt!
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, juice, and vanilla.
- Add one egg at a time to the batter, mixing well between each egg.
- Grease the cake pan, and add a thin layer of batter to the bottom.
- Using a slotted spoon, add a layer of apples, then a layer of batter, repeat until you’ve filled the pan.
- Arrange the apples nicely on the top of the cake and brush the liquid from the apples on the top of the cake!
- Once you’re done assembling, place your cake in the middle of the oven, and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean!
- Allow the cake to cool, then flip it from the pan. Optional: top it with powdered sugar!
You now have a delicious Jewish Apple Cake, thanks D23! All the warm, comforting flavors of Winter in one slice of cake. YUM! Let us know if you make this cake, and stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!
