REVIEW: Frozen Hot Chocolate Exists in Disney World — Here’s Where to Find It!
The holidays have arrived at Disney World!
We got tons of holiday news in July about the brand-new holiday after hours event, the return of the iconic gingerbread houses, and more, and the time for all these festivities has finally come! Disney recently released a huge list of holiday treats coming to the parks this year, and although we’ve already tried a few, it’s time for a holiday classic — hot chocolate!
At several locations around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find the returning Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate and Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate with Black Cherry Bourbon. Visit ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, or PizzeRizzo to pick one of these up!
The drink is made with frozen hot chocolate mix and a salted caramel beverage syrup, and it’s topped with marshmallows and chocolate syrup. The boozy version is the exact same drink but with — you guessed it — black cherry bourbon! You can get the alcoholic version for $13…
…or the non-alcoholic drink for $5.49.
When we stopped by PizzeRizzo, the drinks were not available on Mobile Order yet. But you can head inside and hop in a line to order them at the counter. We decided to try out the boozy hot cocoa with the black cherry bourbon.
We thought this drink was really tasty! We love that it’s frozen (it’s still not quite a winter wonderland in Orlando), and the chocolate and salted caramel tastes were both very prominent.
We almost wish the bourbon was just regular bourbon instead of cherry, because there were a lot of strong flavors in this drink. Next time, we’ll probably try out the non-alcoholic version to simplify the taste! And we’ll save our boozy drinks for a trip to BaseLine Tap House (did you know they just got a Christmas beer?).
But in general, we think this frozen cocoa is a great crowd-pleaser, no matter which option you choose. If you don’t like a strong cherry flavor, definitely go with the non-alcoholic version.
Both of these frozen treats are available from now until January 3rd. Stay tuned to DFB for more holiday treat reviews!
