Select Disney World Cast Members Will Be Getting a NEW LOOK Soon

SO many things are set to open, debut, or otherwise become officially available on October 1st, 2021, for the start of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.

The 50th Anniversary is Almost Here

On October 1st, we’ll get new fireworks shows, a new daytime show, new merchandise, and so many other things in the parks. But, now we’ve learned of ANOTHER new thing you’ll spot on October 1st, and it relates to select Disney World Cast Members.

In general, PhotoPass Photographers are usually pretty easy to spot in Disney World because of their unique costume. Typically, that costume consists of blue slacks, a white shirt, and a beige vest. But, it looks like things will soon be changing slightly for PhotoPass photographers.

“Capture Your Moment” Memory Maker

Earlier today, we got to stop and speak with a wonderful PhotoPass photographer in Disney World and we got a few updates about the PhotoPass photographer costumes.

We learned that the vests are currently optional for PhotoPass Cast Members. As you can see, our wonderful Cast Member friend was not wearing a vest…

Hey There!

…while another Cast Member was.

They’ve Got the Vest On

So, if you’re scanning the park for a person with a vest in order to find those PhotoPass photographers, know that the vests aren’t required at this point.

We also learned that once October 1st comes, the PhotoPass Cast Members will no longer be wearing a vest at all.

PhotoPass Photographer Costumes Are Changing

Additionally, as part of the updated PhotoPass photographer look, their shirts will be getting a PhotoPass patch on their left sleeve. This change is one that is going to be made throughout the Disney World theme parks.

We also spoke to another Cast Member who informed us that the photographers will be getting fanny packs, sort-of like the ones used by character attendants, so they can place their PhotoPass cards in there (which they will no longer be able to place in their vest pockets as they will no longer be wearing their vests).

The Current PhotoPass Look Minus the Vest

Of course, plans can change, but this is what we’ve been informed of at the moment. It’s interesting because this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of potential changes coming to the PhotoPass costume. Earlier this year, we saw Disney testing out some more casual looks for PhotoPass photographers.

We’ll keep an eye out for more updates about the PhotoPass photographers and other happenings all around Disney World on October 1st. Stay tuned for more details.
