5 Disney Holiday Recipes You Can Make At Home This Winter!

The holiday season is just around the corner! No, seriously. WE MEAN IT. Disney has been in Halloween mode for nearly a month now and if you blink they’ll be decking the halls! Before we know it, we’ll ALL be putting up lights, hanging our stockings, and eating delicious snacks! One of the best things about holidays at the Disney parks (besides the epic decorations!) is the wonderful food!

We’re already pumped to celebrate the holidays at the Disney parks (we’re even writing our Disney Holiday Guide already!). For today, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite Disney holiday recipes that we’ve found over the years! Come along and get ready for the holiday season with us!

Star Wars Ugly Sweater Cookies

What are the holidays without ugly sweaters and cookies? You can ring in the most wonderful time of the year with this Mon Calamari Ugly Sweater Cookie! Who are the Mon Calamari? They’re the squid-looking aliens (get it…calamari?!) you’ll see around the Star Wars universe. Ever seen the popular “It’s a trap!” meme? That’s a Mon Calamari right there 🙂 Now, they’re getting down with the holiday spirit!

This recipe came from the Official Star Wars website and they’re sooooo cool! They take a little bit of work, but they’re definitely worth it. If you love to make cute Christmas cookies, this is the one for you. And if you have an office cookie exchange, these are sure to turn some heads and stand out from your more general holiday cookies! Gingerbread, Star Wars, icing, and ugly sweater — what the holidays are all about, right?!

Christmas Charcuterie Boards

Charcuterie boards made a HUGE comeback during the last few years. But why stop at meat and fancy cheese? Why not do something a little sweeter? Well, we discovered two Disney-themed Christmas charcuterie boards! The first was a Christmas Cocoa Board with all the hot cocoa fixings you could possibly need, complete with candy canes, hot chocolate bombs, and so much more! We love this aesthetic and think it’ll be super fun for hosting a Christmas party or a family night with everyone customizing their own cocoa and finding that perfect cocoa combination!

The second board is a Christmas morning spread. This Mickey Waffle-themed board is the perfect way to start your day with plenty of Mickey Waffles and all the toppings! We walk you through how to perfect these iconic bites with step-by-step instructions. And then the sky is the limit with picking your family’s favorite toppings and sauces to customize your own Mickey Waffle Charcuterie!

These boards do require some work planning, and some intentional shopping to gather all the toppings, but they’re so creative and worth it for that beautiful Instagram pic. In addition to just looking impressive, they are also delicious and we’re suckers for Mickey Waffles and endless toppings!

Crema Catalana

For those of you who are longtime fans of the restaurant Toledo at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you know about the Crema Catalana! This is a citrusy, cinnamony treat that’s a lot like a crème brûlée! This treat will give you a little taste of Spain, right in your home!

Creme brûlée can be a little intimidating, but this recipe makes it approachable. And don’t worry, there’s no torch required to caramelize the sugar on top, you can do it in your oven! Be bold and test your culinary adventurousness and try out a new recipe. It’s sure to impress everyone!

Peppermint Marshmallow Wands

If you’ve ever been to a Disney Park during the holidays, then you likely know about these delicious Peppermint Marshmallow Wands! These sweet treats have been putting smiles on faces for years! This recipe lets you make this symphony of peppermint, caramel, marshmallow, and chocolate in the comfort of your own home!

Peppermint Marshmallow Wand

This recipe takes less than an hour to finish and it’s very rewarding. We will warn you: these are easy to make and dangerously delicious, so make them at your own risk! You’ll definitely be addicted!

Kronk’s Challah

For those of you who celebrate Hanukkah (or just love good bread!), Disney has a wonderful challah recipe, courtesy of everyone’s favorite henchman, Kronk! This beautiful braided bread is rich, soft, and spongey.

Challah is a traditional Jewish bread that’s eaten every week on Shabbat as well as on special occasions like holidays. Though the recipe isn’t especially complicated, it does require some patience and plenty of planning as it takes time for the dough to rise a couple of times. But this is one of those instances where patience pays off when you get to bite into that soft, warm bread!
