What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom: A Frozen Drink Hack and SUPER Low Crowds!
Welcome back to another roundup of the latest food, merchandise, and general updates from Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
We’ve had our fair share of food hacks recently, and this latest trip to Animal Kingdom included a new way for us to enjoy a frozen cocktail on a hot Florida day. We also spotted a newly reopened play area for kids to enjoy. That’s just a little sneak peek of what’s ahead; keep reading to learn what else is new in Animal Kingdom!
Animal Kingdom Food Updates
Anandapur Ice Cream Truck
Over at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck, guests will now find that the Yeti Sundae has returned to the menu!
This frozen treat is Chocolate Soft-Serve topped with Vanilla Soft-Serve, Blue Cake Crumbs and Sugar, Sweet Snowflakes, and a Chocolate Yeti Image.
Grab one on your next visit for $5.49!

Warung Outpost
Warung Outpost reopened last month with a limited menu, and on a recent visit we tried their Maharaja Lime Margarita with a twist!
In the past, Warung Outpost had multiple flavors of margaritas that they would layer into different drinks. Right now, however, they only sell a Lime Margarita and a nonalcholic Strawberry frozen beverage called Shangri-La Berry Freeze.
So, we asked if they could add the strawberry puree to our Lime Margarita, and they layered it in the middle!
If you order the drink this way, you are going to get less alcohol because of that added layer of non-alcoholic puree. But if you’re looking to cool off with a frozen drink and you don’t want anything too strong, this may be a good option!
Try this frozen food hack for yourself on your next visit for $13!

Animal Kingdom General Updates
We noticed some work being done in the Animal Kingdom parking lot on a recent visit.
If you’re driving into the parks soon, be on the lookout for some potential construction or roadwork being done as you reach Animal Kingdom’s parking area.
Once we were inside Animal Kingdom, we noticed pretty low crowds this week!
The lower crowds have been spotted in the other theme parks as well.
Guests may notice a dip in crowds towards the end of the summer season as kids head back to school, and with the 50th Anniversary Celebration on the horizon, families may have chosen to push back their trips until later in the fall.

We also noticed that the Boneyard play area in DinoLand U.S.A. reopened this week! The area had been closed for a while for renovations. We stopped by on a recent visit to snap some pictures.
Currently, the play area is open from 9AM-7PM, but these hours are subject to change.
If you have young kids looking to burn off some energy, check out the Boneyard play area on your next visit to Animal Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates
Dinosaur Institute
Over in DinoLand U.S.A., we noticed that the Dinosaur Institute had a bunch of their regular merchandise back in stock!
Several of these items had been out of stock for some time, so we were glad to see that guests could once again shop for these souvenirs!

Riverside Depot
If you’re following along with the Windows of Main Street U.S.A. pin collection, you’ll want to know that both the Figment and Pinocchio pins are currently available at Riverside Depot.
These pins retail for $19.99 each. Be sure to add them to your pin collection before they sell out!

That’ll do it for our recent trips to Animal Kingdom! There are some exciting new guest offerings on the horizon for this park in anticipation of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, including a brand-new daytime show called Disney Kitetails, debuting on October 1st. Be sure to follow along in the coming weeks and months as Disney World prepares for the eighteen-month-long festivities!
