What YOU Thought About Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel Prices
Listen, Disney World is expensive. We’ve seen price increases throughout the parks and resorts, and what feels like less and less included benefits for guests. Yesterday, Disney revealed the pricing for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, and people had thoughts.
We asked you: What was your first reaction when you saw the prices for the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel? Here’s what you had to say!
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is more than just a hotel, it’s an experience. Disney has compared the hotel to a cruise, and many have likened it to Live Action Role Playing (or LARPing). Guests can wear full costumes, interact with Star Wars characters on board, and basically live in a Star Wars bubble for two whole days.
Now, many of you felt that the price tag was far too high for the overall 2-night experience. We saw a lot of disappointed gifs and sad emojis. As one reader put it, “It’s so much. But. I. STILL. WANT.”
Many said things like, “Just too expensive for what you are actually getting. We can do a 7-night cruise for roughly the same amount (which also includes meals and entertainment).” Many readers shared that they could stay at a different Disney hotel for much longer and their holdback was that. this was the price for only two days.

Our readers also had a lot to say about the dining options for the Galactic Starcruiser. Keep in mind, food is included in the price (excluding alcoholic and specialty beverages) along with one quick-service meal at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or other select locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
One reader said, “Food should be the same quality of Jiko or Topolino’s for that price, not Docking Bay 7.”

On the other hand, some people had a different opinion. In discussing the price, one reader even said, “Lower than I expected to be honest!!” Many others said they wanted to stay someday, they just can’t right now.
Some people made jokes about the prices, like “I can build my own star cruiser for those prices,” while others seem truly disappointed with the high prices to stay at the Star Wars hotel. One reader simply stated, “Bitterly disappointed.”
Not everyone was so quick to dismiss it, though! We had a handful of comments that said things like, “We are excited to book it.”
In the end, it seems like most of our readers agreed that the Star Wars hotel is “Priced in a Galaxy far far away!” We’ll be interested to see what happens when the hotel opens in Spring 2022! Until then, stay tuned to the DFB for more Disney news and information!
