Review: Proof That Too Much of a Good Thing Can Be a Bad Thing in Disney World

Happy Halloween, DFB friends!

It’s Time for Spooky Fun in Disney World

It may only be August, but Halloween is already underway in Disney World! Right now you can make your way down Main Street, U.S.A. to see the classic Mickey pumpkins and fall colors, dress up for a night in Magic Kingdom during Disney After Hours Boo Bash, or eat your way through all the Halloween treats your stomach can handle in the parks and resorts. Of course, we’ve been working our way through the new spooky eats and now we’re headed to another restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for more!

This year, ABC Commissary is home to not one, but TWO Halloween treats in Disney World! For now, we’re focusing on the Chocolate Mousse!

Chocolate Mousse Time!

The Chocolate Mousse is made with a Raspberry-dark chocolate mousse, chocolate-almond cake, a layer of hazelnut crunch, and whipped chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake and costs $5.49.

Time to Dig In!

This treat is certainly cute, especially with the little Mickey on the front, but how does it taste? All of the ingredients sound pretty good on their own — chocolate, hazelnut, raspberry, etc. But, putting all of the flavors together in this specific treat was, well…a lot. There were just SO many things going on with this treat and (in our opinion) too many flavors all mixed together.

So Many Flavors All in One Treat

Instead of complimenting each other, it felt like the raspberry and hazelnut were fighting each other. It was also incredibly rich (too rich for us). Couple that intense richness with the dark chocolate, raspberry, chocolate-almond cake, hazelnut crunch, and chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake and it was all just a bit much. It seems too much of a good thing can truly turn into a bad thing sometimes.

A Look Inside

You’ve really got to love chocolate for this one, and you’ve got to like the idea of all of those flavors together. In our opinion, there was just too much going on for one treat. Of course, like all of the Halloween treats in Disney World, the Chocolate Mousse won’t be around for too long. Luckily you’ll have a little extra time to give this one a try as it will be available through November 11th.

We’ve still got a lot more new treats to try and all kinds of spooktacular fun to have so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
