PHOTOS: Sneak Peek at the New Club Cool Coming Soon to EPCOT

Lots of things are changing at EPCOT as part of that park’s massive transformation.

Once the transformation is complete, EPCOT will have a whole new ride themed to Guardians of the Galaxy, a new area called the Play! pavilion, and much more. One part of the EPCOT transformation that some fans may be particularly excited about is the return of a reimagined Club Cool. This spot is set to open soon, and today we finally got a sneak peek at what it looks like!

For those who may not be as familiar with it, Club Cool was a spot where you used to be able to sip on some free Coca-Cola samples and more in EPCOT — but it closed some time ago as part of the EPCOT transformation. Earlier this year, Disney announced that a “revitalized” version of Club Cool would be coming back to the park soon!

The Old Club Cool

We’ve heard about one infamous drink that will be returning to this spot, and we got a closer look at some of the details in Club Cool, but other than that we haven’t heard too many details about this revitalized spot.

Today, however, Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a BIG update via his Instagram. According to Riddley, “Club Cool is nearly BACK at EPCOT” (and the crowd goes wild!!!!). Today Riddley shared a first look at the new facade and marquee for this reimagined spot.

Riddley shares that the new Club Cool has some “fun touches that tie to EPCOT and Coca-Cola’s design legacy.” The Club Cool marquee itself uses the EPCOT World Bold font and is featured in that signature, bright Coke red color. The façade of Club Cool is “inspired by classic green-hued glass Coca-Cola bottles” and you’ll even find the Coca-Cola logo incorporated into the design itself.

Riddley then shared a bit about the legacy and relationship between Coca-Cola and the Disney Parks. Riddley notes that Coca-Cola has been a part of the story of the Disney Parks since 1955 “when ice cold Coca-Cola was served at Disneyland!” Later, in 1998, the first version of Club Cool opened in EPCOT. The location was then changed over the years.

According to Riddley, “Club Cool tells the uniquely EPCOT story about flavors of the world connecting people globally – where Guests can taste test popular Coca-Cola flavors from different countries including the beloved Beverly, which…WILL have a spot on the soda fountain upon reopening!”

The team is still putting the final touches on this space, but Riddley says that they’re approaching the opening of Club Cool and the Creations Shop (the new shop that is set to replace Mouse Gear) very soon. Both Club Cool and the Creations Shop are set to open this summer. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more details and we’ll let you know what we find!
