Disney World Made a Peanut Butter Banana Nutella Sandwich. We Made It Even Better.
Here at DFB, we like to try all of Disney World’s most unusual and unique foods!
Remember the bizarre cookie with socks and flesh-colored sprinkles?
Over the years, we’ve had some unfortunate snacks, some over-the-top cuisine, and some combinations that were pretty surprising. Today, we stopped by a newly reopened spot in Magic Kingdom to try out a new menu item (and possibly to take it to the next level 
).
Tortuga Tavern recently reopened in Magic Kingdom after being closed for many months. For the reopening, we got a few new menu items and we were very excited to try one out in particular!

Once you get your food, there are plenty of options for outdoor seating. Most of the tables are in the shade, which is perfect for those hot Florida days (basically 90% of the year!).

Are you ready to see what we ordered? Say hello to the Peanut Butter, Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, and Banana Sandwich!
Peanut Butter, Nutella, and Bananas?! Need we say more?!
This sandwich is the same one that was offered on the seasonal menu at Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island back in 2019, but that location was only open for a little while, so we doubt that very many people got to try it then. We’ll admit this one isn’t much of a looker right out the gate…
It comes as a whole sandwich with the chips in a separate basket.
…but it tastes much better than it looks! You can probably guess the ingredients of this sandwich based on the name, but it’s also served with a side of house-made chips — all for $9.99.

This treat was really sweet, but we didn’t mind that one bit! The chocolate-hazelnut spread adds a flavor that makes this much more of a dessert or breakfast-type snack — so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for something hearty or savory.
We actually really liked it!
If you’re a fan of these ingredients, we really thought it was delicious! It’s simple, tasty, and the various parts mesh really well together. Kids would probably love this!
This would be a beautiful breakfast.
But once we ordered, we thought to ourselves…what would make this sandwich even better? And it came to us in a scrumptious, savory vision — add BACON!
How can we make this better? Ah yes, our trusty friend BACON.
So we followed our dreams and ordered the Candied Bacon Skewer with chips for $9.99 from Westward Ho in Frontierland. Then we added the bacon in the middle, and voila, the sandwich that should top your must-do list in Disney World!
Oh yeah, we’re doing it.
How does it taste? In a word…perfection.The bacon is thick it added a new level of texture to the sandwich. Everything else was pretty mushy, texture-wise, so the bacon gave it a hearty chew to it all! Altogether it was the epitome of a great sweet and savory combo, and we honestly wish that they served a version of the sandwich like this already!
We did it.
Keep in mind that this is a pricey hack to create (more than $20 for both the parts!), but it may be worth the cost if this is your dream food. That slab of bacon is pretty substantial plus, you’ll get two orders of chips, so who can complain about that?!
