Will We ACTUALLY See a Break From the Rain in Disney World Next Week?

We’re headed into a new week in Disney World!

Hollywood Studios

With a stormy week behind us, you might be wondering how best to prepare for your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth next week. Well, we’re here to help! Let’s dive into the weather forecast for next week in Disney World and some tips for having a GREAT time!

Weather Forecast

Last week we dealt with the effects of Tropical Storm Elsa moving along the coast of Florida and that made for some gloomy and rainy days. Orlando didn’t see too many effects, so we’re back to a regular ol’ summertime week in Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

Still, summertime means RAIN in Florida (tropical storm or not). Will we be able to escape some showers this week? According to The Weather Channel, we will see some sun — but won’t avoid the showers completely.

July 12th

Monday, July 12th will start the week with some of the warmest temperatures for the week. As been the case recently, we’re looking at fairly consistent temperatures all week long. It’s going to be on the warm side and fairly humid too. Monday is going to max out at an 88-degree high and we’ll see 75 degrees at night.

This day will treat us to primarily sun with a chance of thunderstroms in the afternoon. Remember, that 73% humidity can make 88 degrees feel a WHOLE lot hotter!

July 13th

The next day, July 13th brings us a slightly cooler forecast to the day before with a high of 87 degrees during the day and a low of 76 degrees.

You’ll likely see a little bit of rain on Tuesday. The storms are scattered so there is a chance you’ll avoid them, but rain is a common, common site in the afternoons in Disney World so make sure you’re prepped for it!

July 14th

On Wednesday, July 14th, we’re going to see temps hang out in about the same place at 86 degrees during the day. Your low is going to slide down a little to 74 degrees.

Another thing to keep in mind besides the high humidity of summer is that, even with the rain, UV levels are HIGH. So, it’s important to wear your sunscreen even if you expect to be stuck in the rain.

July 15th

For Thursday, July 15th, we’re seeing a day that is back up on the warmest end of things for the week. Expect temps in the high-80s and a beautiful evening at 74 degrees.

And guess what? We might not see ANY rain this day! Wow! An actual break from the rain!? We’ll be crossing our fingers to hope that it’s true.

July 16th

And Friday brings us another beautiful, potentially rainless day! We’ll see high-80s in the day and a mid 70s night on July 16th.

July is still a time for looooong days in Florida. The sun rises around 6:30AM each day and sets around 8:30PM. That gives the sky plenty of time to get dark before fireworks!

July 17th

Saturday, July 17th brings us a return to rainy afternoons with a high in the high-80s. Pro-tip! Don’t leave that rain layer behind even on the days with a lighter rain chance. You never know when the skies could open up!

Here, we’ll see an 87-degree high and a 75-degree low.

July 18th

And we’ll wrap up our week on July 18th with about the same temperatures we’ve been seeing in this forecast and similar conditions. Get ready for high humidity and UV levels and afternoon showers.

All in, the week doesn’t seem too bad! At least we’re not seeing any 90+ degree days!

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to hang out in about the same place for the whole week. We’re looking at a range of 80s highs and 70s lows.

Tips for Weathering the Weather!

We’ve got you covered with some tips to help you out with next week’s weather!

Keep it comfortable in those afternoon storms!

This week continues a trend that’s been the norm for a while — those showery afternoons. If you’re in Disney World when the afternoon storms roll around, you run the risk of getting drenched AND missing out on some iconic attractions!

Epcot Rain Clouds

Make sure you pack a rain layer that’s easy to whip out as needed and remember that outdoor attractions often close with storms. Plan to ride those outdoor must-dos earlier in the day when it tends to be drier. Also, keep in mind you could get stranded somewhere if you’re hoping to use the Skyliner to get around! If this happens, be patient and ask a Cast Member for your options.

Stay safe in the sun!

It looks like we MIGHT get lucky with a reprieve from the rainy afternoons this week and if that’s the case, we’re probably going to be dealing with some bright and sunny hours! Even with rain in the forecast, you might be stuck with some hot and humid times too.

That’s a LOT of water!

Humidity can make Florida feel even HOTTER than it actually is so it’s super important that you stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks as you need in the park. Sunscreen is available in many retail locations and you can get free cups of water from most quick-service spots.
