The BEST (and WORST) Things We Ate in Disney World in June
Can you BELIEVE we are already halfway through 2021? Time just flies right on by when you’re enjoying all of the latest food and beverages from Disney World!
June was a busy month for seasonal treats; between Pride Month, Father’s Day, and the summer season officially arriving, we’ve had our fill of new treats from the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Today, we’re rounding up the best and the worst things we had in the month of June at Disney World!
The Best:
Pride Flight — Splitsville Luxury Lanes
Yes, we’re kicking off our list of the BEST things we ate in the month of June at Splitsville in Disney Springs! We tried a bunch of tasty treats in celebration of Pride Month, and one of our favorites has got to be the Pride Flight.
This lineup of three colorful cocktails included combinations of their Big Wave Dave, Rum Runner, and Pina Colada frozen drinks! Between the bright colors and the yummy taste, this was the perfect refreshing way to kick off Pride Month for $20.

Bacon of Doom — Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar
Speaking of treats that won major brownie points on presentation alone, we’re heading to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar next in Disney Springs to talk about their Bacon of Doom. This entire dish came served under a large glass lid that’s filled with smoke, and when the glass is lifted, the food and drinks are revealed!
Underneath you’ll find thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon dipped in milked chocolate and chipotle ganache from The Ganachery in Disney Springs! It comes paired with your choice of cocktail: either their whiskey-based Trusty Revolver or their tequila-based Snake Bite Margarita.
This dish was pricey at $32, but when you account for the fact that you get a bit of a show (with its own smoke and haze effects!), it’s well worth the splurge in our opinion!

“I Am Your Father” Petit Cake — Amorette’s Patisserie
We typically have pretty high expectations when it comes to the limited edition desserts at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs (seriously, Disney Springs was THE place to eat in June!). We’re happy to report that not only did their “I Am Your Father” Petit Cake deliver, but it may rank among the top petit cakes we’ve ever tried!
This latest edition of their petit cake is red velvet cake with cream cheese filling, bourbon dark chocolate mousse, and white and dark chocolate crisp pearls. This dessert also came with a lightsaber made of fondant, with a cocoa butter-covered handle. Between the flavors and the textures, this was a home run cake.
These petit cakes are NOT cheap, and this Darth Vader-inspired version is no exception at $22. However, it’s totally big enough to share with a friend, and you’ll be glad you made the investment! Unfortunately, this was a specialty treat for Father’s Day, but we hope to see it return one day!

Assorted Moroccan Pastries — Oasis Sweets & Sips
The next entry on our “best” list for the month of June is actually an entire collection of sweets! We tried all of the new pastries that you can find at Oasis Sweets & Sips in the Morocco Pavilion, and they were ALL a delight!
On our visit, we tried the Almond Ghrieba, Semolina Orange Basbousa Cake, Mosaic Cookie With Apricot Jam, Coconut-Pistachio Ghrieba, and the Almond Briwat. Overall, none of these treats were a disappointment and we were pleased across the board!
If you’re looking to try something new and different than just your standard Disney World cupcake, check out the Morocco Pavilion on your next trip to EPCOT! The treats are also a great value — they cost one for $2.50, three for $6.50, five for $11, or seven for $15.

The Worst:
Peach Margarita — Disney Springs Outdoor Cart
We hate to report on margaritas that just missed the mark for us, but the first item on our “worst” list for June is just that. Over at Disney Springs, you can find plenty of outdoor food and drink carts, where this month we tried the new Peach Margarita.
We wanted to love this cocktail (that’s a mixture of Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, sweet-and-sour, peach, and lime juice), but we found the peach flavor to be nearly non-existent! Really all we tasted here was the sweet-and-sour mix with a tiny, TINY bit of alcohol.
For a $16 cocktail, you really want to get your money’s worth. Unfortunately, we felt a bit ripped off for this particular beverage. There are PLENTY of yummy drinks around Disney Springs to check out instead!

Key Lime Pie Krispies Treat — Zuri’s Sweet Shop
Last year, Disney debuted a series of Rice Krispies Treats that resemble slices of pie. Some of our favorites have included Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie, so when we discovered there was a Key Lime Pie version just in time for summer, we were stoked!
We came to realize that the Key Lime Pie Krispies Treat from Zuri’s Sweet Shop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to be one of our LEAST favorite pie-inspired Krispies Treat yet. We found the flavor to be WAY too strong; even if you love Key Lime Pie it may be too much! While super clever, this is one slice of “pie” you can skip this summer. It’s available at Zuri’s Sweet Shop for $5.49.

Father and Son Cupcake — Flame Tree Barbecue
Some Father’s Day treats were hits (like the petit cake we mentioned above!) while others were misses, like the Father and Son Cupcake from Flame Tree Barbecue. This cupcake had a lot of promise as a vanilla cupcake with chocolate chip cookie dough filling and is topped with caramel frosting.
While totally cute with the little garnish featuring Bambi and his dad, the “pros” of this dessert stop there. Unfortunately, this cupcake fell victim to the totally plain, kinda boring and basic, and we missed the caramel flavor that could have made it more unique. It was available as a limited-time Father’s Day treat for $5.99.

Paradise Pride Pastry — Amorette’s Patisserie
We’re wrapping up our best and worst lists for June right where we began: with Pride Month! Disney World seriously showed up this year and delivered a ton of memorable treats for the month-long celebration…unfortunately, not all of them were winners in our book.
Over at Amorette’s Patisserie, we weren’t all that thrilled with their Paradise Pride Pastry. While it was pretty to look at, this salted caramel spiced mousse with coconut mousse and a passion fruit center, topped whipped passion fruit ganache just wasn’t all that. The texture was definitely spot on, but the passion fruit was a bit overwhelming for us.
If you ARE a passionfruit fan, however, this dessert may have topped your “best” list! It was available for Pride Month for $7.
