REVIEW: We’re Sippin’ on TWO Underrated Drinks at Oga’s Cantina in Disney World

We’re about to go to a galaxy far, far away…and fortunately for us, the trip is relatively short — all we have to do is visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World!

Just hanging out in a galaxy far, far away

And if we’re looking for some drinks that are out of this world (out of this galaxy, technically), we’ll head to Oga’s Cantina to imbibe on some drinks that might make our mouths go numb and fill us our inner Star Wars nerd with delight. Today, we stopped by for a few drinks and wanted to share some thoughts!

Atmosphere

As we’ve previously mentioned EVERYTHING about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is meant to make you feel like you’ve stepped into a Star Wars movie, and that includes Oga’s Cantina. As soon as you step inside, you’re in a bar very similar to the one that launched the whole “Who shot first? controversy between Han Solo and Greedo.

DJ R3X spinning some tunes

One thing we noticed during this trip is that the bar was VERY full. Seating is at every table now. Social distancing is no longer in place.

No more social distancing

We were given 45 minutes to eat and drink, so let’s get to our review!

Drinks

You can get alcoholic drinks here…

…as well as non-alcoholic drinks. A little something for everyone!

Non-alcoholic drinks

For this trip, we went with some boozy choices and started with the T-16 Skyhopperwhich is made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bols Melon Liqueur, Kiwi, and Half and Half. This drink is just FUN.  At first, we couldn’t taste the Tito’s at all. But after drinking git for a bit, we started to pick up on those alcohol notes.

Overall, the drink is not too sweet. You’d almost expect it to be sweeter because it’s melon, but the half and half cuts the sweetness and ends up adding a bit of creaminess. The addition of the dried Kiwi slice just makes it Insta-worthy. We’d totally order this drink again!

Fun space drink

We also had the Dagobah Slug Slinger. Yes, it’s a drink with the word “slug” in it, but it’s a lot better than it sounds! It’s made with Herradura Reposado Tequila, Bols Blue Curaçao, Citrus Juices, Ginger, Herbs, and Bitters. Unlike the other drink, this drink is STRONG, we tasted the tequila immediately. The bitters also come through and are quite strong. The entire thing is a bizarre combination that shouldn’t work, but it does!

It’s like a fun space margarita with a bit of spice from the ginger. What we didn’t pick upon were the herb flavors, even with that hefty rosemary garnish! We’d get this one again too. Also, check out that little rosemary tree garnish!

SLUG

Both drinks are $16 each.

Eats

We also got a little peckish during our time in the cantina, so we ordered up some Batuu Bits. These are described as “Crispy Galaxy Snack Bits with Spiced Chermoula Dip.” Honestly, our reporters have mixed thoughts on this snack. But the reporter today happens to love the snack mix and dip. It’s got a fun kick, but it’s not TOO spicy. There are lots of dried veggies and were all seasoned well. Each little bite has its own unique flavor — and the spiciest are the lotus root bits.

A FUN snack!

It’s also easily shareable for $11.

Yummy bits

Overall, any trip to Oga’s is a lot of fun — you can’t beat the atmosphere, and the drinks and snacks really do feel like something from out of this galaxy. Disney did a great job theming the food and drinks to make both feel otherworldly. There’s also a good variety of drinks here and we think there’s something here to please just about everyone!

We’re at Disney World every day, so stay tuned for more reviews!
