REVIEW: We Tried the New Keylime Cake and Cookie at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney World!
You’ve heard of Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs, right?

The little bakery serves up GIANT cookies (seriously — they’re HALF-POUND COOKIES) with really delicious flavors! They have limited-edition flavors throughout the year, and we just tried the NEW flavors they’ve got for July!
This summer, Gideon’s is bringing in fruity summer flavors with a key lime theme!
Gideon’s July Flavors
Along with their usual flavors of Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Crunch, Pistachio Toffee, Cookies and Cream, and Triple Chocolate, you can get a Chocolate Chip Key Lime Pie Cookie and a Key Lime Pie Cake! Hurry down to the Springs soon, though, because these flavors will only be there until August 12th! These were made specifically for the Flavors of Florida event coming to Disney Springs.

You can bet we ran in and tried those flavors ASAP! When it comes to desserts, we do not mess around, so we grabbed the cake AND the cookie! The cookie costs $6, and the slice of cake was $10 — not bad prices for such huge portions!
The NEW Key Lime Pie Treats at Gideon’s Bakehouse!
First, we tried the Chocolate Chip Key Lime Pie Cookie! The cookie is made with Gideon’s vanilla cookie dough that’s been infused with key lime juice! It has TONS of chocolate chops on top and some key lime pie crumbs that tasted to us like graham cracker crumble! Like a lot of Gideon’s cookies, there’s flaky salt on top that we think really brings out the flavors and balances the sweetness of the chocolate!
Gideon’s Limited-Edition Chocolate Chip Key Lime Pie Cookie!
Even though we could taste the lime in the cookie, we thought it was still super chocolatey — how could it not be when it’s smothered in chocolate chips?? Chocolate is the dominant flavor, but we did get a really crisp and refreshing burst of lime in the dough! The sharp lime flavor worked well against the really sweet chocolate, and we enjoyed that balance. The little graham cracker crumbles added a great crunch to the cookie and added to the key lime pie flavor! We probably could’ve done with a little less chocolate to let the key lime flavor really shine, but the cookie was still really delicious.

Behold, the magnificence of Gideon’s ginormous cookies! Next up, we tried the Key Lime Pie Cake! This is a three-layer vanilla key lime cake with tangy key lime cream cheese frosting, white chocolate shavings on the side, and graham cracker crumbles on top!
Key Lime Cake at Gideon’s Bakehouse
The cake was super soft! The texture was almost like a cheesecake — it was so creamy! The key lime flavor was definitely present, and we loved the tartness from it. This cake was less heavy than most of Gideon’s other cakes, which we think makes it great for a summer treat!

We thought both the cake and cookie were delicious, but the key lime flavor was strong (especially in the cake!), so if you’re not a key lime fan, this might not be the best treat for you!
