REVIEW: Kona Island Has Reopened at Disney World (With Chocolate-Covered BACON)!

So many of our favorite snack spots, restaurants, and hotels are reopening at Disney World!

Welcome to the Polynesian!

And we’re especially excited about the reopening of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in just a few days! In the meantime, we’ve been enjoying the newly-reopened Ohana there. But today, we noticed a snack spot at the resort had also reopened!

While we were visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we saw that Kona Island has officially reopened.

Open for business!

Now, this isn’t to be confused with Kona Cafe next door. Kona Island is a snack spot where you can pick up some specialty coffee drinks and pastries in the morning

…as well as sushi and other goodies for lunch and dinner.

Ready to take your order!

But also, this is where you get some delicious CANDIED BACON! Of course we had to try all of the flavors Kona Island offered!

This includes the Dark Chocolate Chili-Baconwhich was our second favorite of the flavors. The bacon is already seasoned well, but this adds a bit of spicy with the sweet chocolate!

The Dark Chocolate Bacon is for those who love some plain, chocolate-covered bacon. It wasn’t our favorite, but it’s the simplest option of the bacon choices.

The Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan Bacon had an interesting texture! The nuts made it super crunchy, and although it wasn’t our favorite, we enjoyed it.

Last but not least is the seasonal Pineapple and Coconut Chocolate-Covered Bacon. This was our favorite bacon flavor! It was a fun mix with the dried pineapple and toasted coconut. Overall the bacon was pretty peppery on its own — it was seasoned very well and surprisingly, it was not too salty. Each pair of bacon is $4, but there were some pre-packaged boxes with one of each flavor!

We saw lots of  other yummy-looking treats in the case today, too, including some Chocolate-Covered Strawberries…

…and more! They’ve got cupcakes and other selections as well. So if you find yourself over at the Polynesian in need of a sweet snack, you know where to go (and again, GET THE BACON). And we’ll keep you updated on all reopenings at Disney World!
