PHOTOS: First Look at the NEW Boardwalk Dining Experience at Disneyland’s Lamplight Lounge
Disneyland has been reopened for almost two months, and a lot has already changed at the resort.
Now more hotels have reopened, out-of-state guests can visit the parks, temperature checks are no longer required, and face mask policies have changed for guests. And, as more and more restaurants reopen, we’re checking out a brand new dining experience that has arrived at the already open Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure!
Lamplight Lounge originally reopened in March for the special ticketed event A Touch of Disney and ever since they’ve been serving up lunch and dinner for guests who have a reservation (they’ll also be serving brunch again soon). But, now the restaurant is accepting walk-up guests for the new Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining!
Let’s check it out!
Check-In and Seating
Unlike the other seating area at Lamplight Lounge, the new Boardwalk Dining experience does not require a reservation. Instead, guests can walk up to be seated. You can join the waitlist for this spot through the Disneyland app. At first, the app showed us availability, but then the app got a bit finicky and told us there was no availability.
So, we went to the host stand and were able to join the waitlist there with an estimated wait of about 30 minutes.
We overheard some guests also saying that they were having an issue joining the waitlist. If you experience an issue joining the waitlist, we recommend going to the host stand to see if you can join that way.
Then, we got our text telling us to return and we were on our way!
Food
Here’s a look at the menu.
The menu for the Boardwalk Dining experience includes a number of items from Lamplight Lounge including the lobster nachos, potato skins, tuna poke, the scream canister cocktail, and other items. There are also a number of things on the menu that we had seen at Lamplight Lounge when it reopened with A Touch of Disney, like the Angus Beef Sliders and Spotlight Nachos: Barbacoa.
One thing that we didn’t immediately recognize from the current Lamplight Lounge menu, however, was the Pork Belly “Banh Mi” Brussels Sprouts.
There are also a number of drinks available including cocktails…
…non-alcoholic mocktails…
…a number of wine options…
…and some beer selections too.
During our trip today, we grabbed the Pork Belly “Banh Mi” Brussels Sprouts…
…Angus Beef Sliders…
…and the Spotlight Nachos: Barbacoa.
We’ll bring you our full review of the Boardwalk Dining soon so stay tuned for that! And, we’ll be back to Lamplight Lounge for more soon, as the new brunch option comes to the restaurant on July 9th. In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news and updates.
