Can You Guess What Rides Had Wait Times UNDER 5 Minutes This Week in Disney World?
Heading to Disney World soon? Wondering what rides you could hop on with less than a 5 minute wait and what rides you’ll want to set aside more time for?
Each week we take a look at the average wait times for Disney World’s attractions and share those updates with you. And each week we issue a bit of a wait times challenge. For this week: can you guess what rides had average wait times UNDER 5 minutes? Make your predictions for each park now. Okay, ready? Let’s go!!
Magic Kingdom
We’ll start in Magic Kingdom. During our previous review of the wait times in Disney World, Splash Mountain had the longest wait time in Magic Kingdom at 49 minutes. This past week, Splash Mountain was at the top of the leaderboard again with a slightly longer average wait time of 54 minutes.
Following Splash Mountain, we had Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 47 minutes, Jungle Cruise at 38 minutes, and Space Mountain at 37 minutes.
If you’re looking for rides with wait times in the 20s range, last week the average wait time for Pirates of the Caribbean was 28 minutes, while Astro Orbiter was at 27 minutes, Peter Pan’s Flight was also at 27 minutes, and “it’s a small world” was at 20 minutes.
Here’s a look at the remaining wait times:
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — 19 minutes
- Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh — 19 minutes
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin — 17 minutes
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel — 15 minutes
- Haunted Mansion — 14 minutes
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic — 12 minutes
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover — 12 minutes
- Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid — 12 minutes
- Tomorrowland Speedway — 11 minutes
- Mad Tea Party — 10 minutes
- Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini — 9 minutes
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant — 9 minutes
- Magic Carpets of Aladdin — 9 minutes
- Tom Sawyer Island — 8 minutes
- Carousel of Progress — 5 minutes
And finally, it’s time to take a look at the rides in Magic Kingdom that had wait times UNDER 5 minutes. The rides that fell into this category were:
- Country Bear Jamboree — 4 minutes
- Liberty Square Riverboat — 3 minutes
- Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse — 0 minutes
- Enchanted Tiki Room — 0 minutes
How many did you guess right?!
EPCOT
Alright, let’s move onto EPCOT. In this park a number of attractions had wait times under 5 minutes. But, let’s look at the ones with longer waits first.
Test Track was at the top of the list with an average wait time of 50 minutes (slightly longer than the wait we saw the week before). Both Frozen Ever After and Mission: SPACE had average wait times of 42 minutes, and Soarin’ Around the World had an average wait time of 38 minutes.
The rest of EPCOT’s rides all had wait times under 15 minutes. In the 12-9 minute range we had The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 12 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 11 minutes, Gran Fiesta Tour at 10 minutes, Journey into Imagination at 10 minutes, and Living with the Land at 9 minutes.
Which brings us to the rides with wait times UNDER 5 minutes. This week, the attractions in this category were as follows:
- Impressions de France — 0 minutes
- Reflections of China — 0 minutes
- American Adventure — 0 minutes
- Awesome Planet — 0 minutes
- Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along — 0 minutes
- Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival — 0 minutes
No surprise here! These are basically the same attractions that had the shortest wait during the previous week as well.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
What rides do you think had under a 5 minute wait in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Let’s see if your guesses are correct.
The ride with the longest wait time in Hollywood Studios this past week was Slinky Dog Dash at 66 minutes (slightly shorter than the previous week).
After that we had Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 42 minutes, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith at 41 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 34 minutes, Toy Story Mania at 29 minutes, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at 26 minutes, and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at 26 minutes.
Looking for rides with an even shorter wait? Then you could head to Alien Swirling Saucers which had at average wait time of 22 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy with an average wait of 16 minutes, Muppet*Vision 3D with an average wait of 10 minutes, and Walt Disney Presents with an average wait of 9 minutes.
Which means the rides with average wait times under 5 minutes in Hollywood Studios were…well, there were none, at least in terms of the attractions and calculations included in our wait times data.
Keep in mind that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not factored into our data because it uses virtual boarding groups.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
And finally that leaves us with Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This past week, Avatar Flight of Passage had an average wait time of 66 minutes, while Na’vi River Journey was at 34 minutes, and Kilimanjaro Safaris was at 31 minutes.
With lower wait times, we had Kali River Rapids at 26 minutes, Expedition Everest at 20 minutes, Dinosaur at 16 minutes, and It’s Tough to Be a Bug at 12 minutes.
TriceraTop Spin had an average wait time of 5 minutes (but not under 5 minutes, meaning it falls out of our challenge). Which leaves us with just one attraction with a wait under 5 minutes — the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail!
And that’s a look at the wait times from this past week. How many of the rides under 5 minutes did you guess right?
We’ll keep checking on those wait times and bringing you all the latest updates. So stay tuned for more Disney news to help you prepare for your upcoming trips!
