What’s New at Hollywood Studios: Health and Safety Changes and a Virtual Queue!

Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Merchandise Update

Tatooine Traders

Character themed socks are totally our jam because they just add some extra pizazz to your already rockin’ park outfit. But, these Chewbacca Socks are different from any other we’ve seen in the parks!

Chewbacca Socks

While Chewbacca’s satchel may just look like a fun decoration on the side…

Hmm, What’s This?

…it actually opens up to reveal a REAL pocket! So, you can store all your treasures in a safe spot that nobody will guess for $9.99.

REAL Pockets!

And, while you’re at the Tatooine Traders, you might as well pick up these Mickey-themed Cooling Towels! The Florida heat is already creeping in for the summer, and these wraps can really help you stay chill on the hottest days.

Cooling Towels

You can take them with you around Disney’s Hollywood Studios or the rest of the Disney World property for $16.90 each!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Entertainment Update

Marketplace at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

If you’ve been over to the Marketplace in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edgeyou’ve probably encountered some SUPER long lines to entire the small area with its limited capacity. But, those days of long waits are officially OVER! The Marketplace is now operated with a virtual queue as guests are able to scan the QR code available to choice the waitlist, submit their party’s size, and wait for the confirmation text.

It’s about time!

The Marketplace is roped off in the meantime, where guests can keep their masks off prior to entering. But, once they are in the Marketplace, they will need to put their face coverings back on. After you receive your return text, a Cast Member will direct you to the Marketplace with signs also available.

Wait Here

Originally, we were projected to have a 90 minute wait, but it took us less than 40 minutes during a busy time of the day to receive our return text! The virtual queue is a helpful solution to the otherwise super long waits that would generally be in the area.

Meet Grace

Now that we’ve seen virtual queues at the Marketplace, Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, and (of course) Rise of the Resistance, we’ll be on the lookout for any others!

Find out all the details of the new Galaxy’s Edge Virtual Queue here!

Attractions

Now that Disney World has changed its mask policy and reduced distancing measures, entertainment around the parks will also be seeing modifications. While we saw changes at the Festival of the Lion King already, two shows in Disney’s Hollywood Studios have adapted their seating arrangements. One Man’s Dream at the Walt Disney Presents theater now asks guests to leave one seat between empty groups with no rows blocked off.

One Man’s Dream

Previously, the theater used to have every row blocked off with three seats blocked off in each open row after every four available seats.

Rows are no longer blocked off

Yet, that isn’t the only other show with modifications in place in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Check out the new distancing measures at One Man’s Dream here!

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Singalong is also welcoming more guests now with no distancing markers on seats. No distancing markers were on seats, but guests were seated in every other row and told to leave one seat open between groups.

Seating in every row

Yet, additional guests were directed to fill the empty rows, if necessary. Performers were still distanced from each other onstage, and Anna and Elsa didn’t include their hug at the end.

Frozen!

At the end of the show, Cast Members told each row when they were able to leave, as each row was directed one at a time.

We’ll be on the lookout for any changes to other entertainment around Disney World soon as well!

Take a look at the details of the new protocols at the Frozen Sing-Along here!

Lots of atmosphere pictures from the attractions that stayed the same for gallery and for reference for when they do change.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Policy Update

Temperature Checks

As guests enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios, temperature checks are no longer required. Instead of walking across the median to enter the tents for temperature checks…

No More Temperature Checks!

…now guests are entering the parks similar to how they did during the pre-closure procedures.

Of course, those aren’t the only major health and safety modifications recently!

Face Masks

Now that Disney World has changed its mask policy, ALL guests (regardless of their vaccination statuses) are able to go maskless outdoors.

Cast Member Alerting Policy Change

However, there are specific times that masks are required in Disney World. Face coverings are still necessary upon entering and throughout all attractions, in all theaters (including theater entrances), in all transportation (including transportation entrances), and in all indoor locations (including restaurants, except when actively eating or drinking while stationary).

New Face Mask Policy

So, it’s important to continue to keep your masks handy when you’re in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the other Disney World parks! We recommend bringing a face mask chain with you for easy access without the worry of losing your mask while you’re exploring.

Guests Don’t Have to Wear Masks Outdoors

Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have any questions about your upcoming Disney vacation, let us know so we can help you find the answers!
