The BEST Ways To Show Cast Members You Appreciate Them!

Cast Members are often the reason your Disney vacation can be so magical!

Welcome Back to Disneyland!!

They are vital to making the Disney Parks and Resorts operate smoothly and successfully. Since the pandemic began, many Cast Members have been hit hard by the closures around the world and the massive furloughs and layoffs Disney made in 2020. Now that many parks are back up and operating, Cast Members deserve our appreciation more than ever!

Here are the best ways to tell Cast Members you appreciate them:

Say Thank You

This may seem like an obvious one, but it can really make an impact! Telling a Cast Member thank you after they help you with something can make their day. Take the time to genuinely thank them for working during this difficult time.

If a Cast Member goes out of their way for you or simply hands you a Mickey pretzel, thank them for being there right now to help make your experience a great one!

Thank Them With A Card

To take a thank you a step further, you can bring small cards to give to Cast Members while you’re on property! A little card with a token of your gratitude inside is the perfect way to make a Cast Member feel appreciated.

Write them a handwritten note thanking them for your experience!

Leave A Tip!

Some Cast Members are allowed to accept tips, while others are not. You ARE allowed to tip Bell Services, Housekeeping, Car Valets, Bartenders, Wait staff at full-service restaurants, Spa Staff, and Room Service Staff. If you have an enjoyable experience, you may want to consider tipping these Cast Members!

Many times they are going out of their way to give you exceptional service, so they deserve to be appreciated as well!

Write A Personalized Note

Similar to a card, but if you’re staying on Disney property, it only takes a second to write a small message on a notepad to give to Cast Members.

Leave it in your room along with a tip for your housekeepers, wrap it around a tip to give to bell services or car valets, and even write a small note on the receipt you leave for your servers or bartenders!

Give A #CastCompliment

Another great way to show your appreciation is to give a #CastCompliment on social media! Simply note the Cast Member’s name, where they’re from (which is written on their name tag), and where they helped you and post on social media with the hashtag #CastCompliment!

Make sure to also tag an official Disney account like @WaltDisneyWorld or @Disneyland so it has a better chance of being seen by the company! You can also give a compliment to a Cast Member by visiting Guest Services and leaving a note about the person you want to recognize!

Send An Email Or Letter

If you don’t want to physically go to Guest Relations or maybe you forgot to compliment the Cast Member until you got home, you can also write Disney to give your compliment! You can send an email to Guest Communications at Walt Disney World at: wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com or send a letter to:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
PO Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

“Capture Your Moment” Memory Maker

Make sure you include the Cast Member’s name and hometown, a description of how they impacted you, and where or when it happened! These compliments go into that Cast Member’s file and can be very beneficial to them when Disney is looking at promotions!

Be Nice!

This should go without saying, but most importantly, please be nice to Cast Members! Simply being friendly and thoughtful when interacting with Cast Members can help turn their day around, especially if they’ve had to deal with some not-so-nice guests!

Make sure to politely listen to what Cast Members ask you to do as they are just trying to do their job and make your day magical!

Cast Members help make our dreams come true, so we should try and make them feel as appreciated as possible! Using any of these ways to say thank you is sure to make a Cast Member’s day a good one, so try them out!
