BREAKING: Universal Orlando Will No Longer Require Face Masks

Theme parks’ safety policies have been changing frequently lately.

Recently, Universal Orlando dropped its outdoor face mask mandate for guests, and Disney World followed shortly after. This comes as parks are increasing capacity and reducing social distancing, too. And now, we have confirmed with Universal that another change is on the way.

We were able to confirm with Universal Orlando that beginning tomorrow, May 29th, face masks will no longer be required indoors. When combined with Universal’s current outdoor mask policy, this means face coverings will be optional everywhere on property. Proof of vaccination will not be required.

The Team Member we spoke with was unable to confirm further corresponding changes to social distancing or capacity, but we will keep a close eye on the situation. Additionally, Universal’s website has not yet been updated to reflect this change — but we will update this post with the exact policy once it is.

So what do current safety policies look like at Universal? Social distancing has been lowered to 3 feet, temperature checks have been removed, and Team Members are now seating multiple parties together on attractions. This change in mask rules is the next way Universal is slowly reducing its regulations.

Keep in mind that Disney World has not announced this change to their mask policy. Face coverings are still required there at ALL indoor locations, as well as in outdoor queues and attractions. You can check out Disney’s current mask policy in full below:
