We love finding fun ways to test your Disney knowledge, whether that’s on movies, the theme parks, or other random facts. And through it all, we all learn a little somethin’! So in honor of the Academy Awards last month, we asked our followers on Instagram some Oscar-themed trivia questions! Think YOU know the answers? Time to find out!

It’s time for our first question (drumroll, please!). As of 2020, how many Academy Awards has Disney won in total? This doesn’t include those 5 Academy Awards Disney took home in 2021. You can go with 85, 180, 93, or 127!

Time for Question #1!

Most of our readers guessed 93, but the answer is actually 127! That’s a LOT of awards, folks. Disney’s won in tons of categories, from “Best Animated Short Film” to “Best Original Score” to even “Best Picture!”

We’re movin’ on to Question 2! Which film or animated short won Walt Disney his very first competitive Academy Award? You can take your pick between Steamboat Willie, Dumbo, Flowers and Trees, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Question #2!

While a HUGE majority of our readers thought the answer was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (so you’re not alone if you got this one wrong!), the answer is actually Flowers and Trees. It won “Best Animated Short Film” in 1932. And if you aren’t familiar with Flowers and Trees, it was Walt Disney’s very first Technicolor film. It paved the way for other Silly Symphonies cartoons and the whole future of animation!

It’s time for the third and final question, friends! For which film was Walt Disney presented an honorary, specially-made Academy Award in 1939? Use that year to help ya out! You can pick between Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Mary Poppins.

Question #3!

The answer is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, of course! It won an Honorary Award in 1939 for its “screen innovation.” That famous Oscar consists of the typical statuette along with 7 tiny statuettes, meant to represent the 7 dwarfs. It remains an iconic award to this day!
