Who Thought This Was a Good Idea, Disney?!
You walk into a Disney merchandise store in any of their parks and have some idea of what you might find — Minnie ears, plushes, shirts, spirit jerseys — the usual. But sometimes, you visit a gift shop and find something like this…
WHAT IS THIS THING?
…ohhhh boy. Is it just us or does our little green alien friend look like he’s FOAMING at the mouth?! Seriously, Disney, WHO thought this was a good idea?!!? But, this little green alien isn’t alone. Come with us now on a fantastic, strange, incredibly unusual journey through just some of the Disney souvenirs we’ve found that have made us think “WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?!” Get ready to laugh because some of this merchandise is so funny or just plain wrong…that we love it!
1. Ferret Farts Lip Balm
No, you did not read that incorrectly. Yes, if you search for it, there is a thing in Disney World called Ferret Farts Lip Balm. Now, this is created by Goat Mountain Soap Company, but you can find it over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. And honestly, it’s so wrong that it’s right. Right?!

Oh, but wait, there’s more. There’s also Moose Spit…
So, what do we all think Moose Spit tastes like?
…Beaver Butt…
If you forgot to pack your chapstick, don’t worry, you can always pick up this BEAVER BUTT flavored one!
…and Bear Breath lip balms.
What is Disney trying to say about our breath?
Does our breath smell like a bear and that’s why we need this? Or will this taste like Bear Breath and make our breath smell like that? WHAT IS GOING ON?!
Now thankfully there is no actual Bear Breath IN the lip balm — just some other stuff like coconut oil and beeswax. It looks like these “authentic Canadian lip balms” are made by Goat Mountain Soap Company. And if you want to get some Ferret Fart cream to go with that lip balm, you can search them up online and order that too!!

We can’t help but wonder what possessed someone to make a lip balm called Ferret Farts, but it exists and it can be ALL yours if you want it!

2. Forky Brush
We said it last year and we will say it again — this Forky item is one of the most RIDICULOUS pieces of Disney merch we’ve ever seen! Looking at Forky from the front like this you might be thinking, “oh, it’s a Forky toy, cute!” But oh no my friend, you have been FOOLED!!

Forky toys do exist, but this…this is something different. THIS is a Forky hairbrush!!! That’s right, you can now brush your hair with TRASH.

Now, don’t get us wrong, that cute Forky smile gets us every time and we can’t say we blame you if you pick up one of these unique items for yourself. They’re priced at $16.99.

But, seriously, we gotta know — how did we go from a trash spork to a hairbrush? It’s bizarre, it’s wonderful, it’s weird — it’s everything all wrapped up in one trashy hairbrush. And really, what more is there to say?

3. Some Unique Windbreakers
Picture it: you’re looking for a windbreaker in Disney World. You like Pandora — The World of Avatar, so you hop over to Windtraders in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and you find THIS BEAUTY.

Can’t quite see the image on the back of this windbreaker? Oh well, please, allow us to zoom in for you. The Shaman of Songs is an impressive animatronic, there’s NO doubt about that. Do you want to WEAR an image of that animatronic on your windbreaker though? Well, I guess that’s up to you.

The front of the windbreaker is covered in more Pandora designs, this time of the floating mountains.

For $49.99, you could grab this windbreaker and not-so-subtly *SCREAM in windbreaker* your love for Pandora.
If you’d rather *scream in windbreaker* your love for a certain mischievous alien, you could grab this Stitch Windbreaker instead!

Again, this is NOT an item for those who like their looks to be subtle.

But, if you love Experiment 626, this might be just the thing for you. Still, we have to wonder — why the choice to make these SO loud?!

4. All the Cringe-Worthy Things
We literally have an entire list of Disney World’s most cringe-worthy souvenirs, and essentially we’d like to incorporate that list fully here. Trying to advertise your relationship status in Disney? Oh, there’s a shirt for that.

Want a shirt, mug, bag, and more ALL with the same grainy, blurry image of Baby Yoda? Yup, there’s that too.

Now, those Baby Yoda things were among the first Baby Yoda items to be released by Disney after The Mandalorian premiered and we get that things were being held under wraps to keep the Baby a secret, but c’mon!!! We’ll just say, we’re glad Baby Yoda merchandise has come quite a long way since then.

5. Stitch Crashes Disney
Okay, okay, we don’t necessarily think ALL of the Stitch Crashes Disney collections will be weird or strange. But, some of the ones we’ve seen so far have been absolutely terrifying or just confusing! We just have a lot of questions. Like, why is Stitch covered in Spaghetti and meatballs in a way that kinda looks like chickenpox?

And perhaps most importantly, WHYYYYYY did the Lion King Stitch have terrifying red eyes?

6. Anything With Weird Goofy
This is regular Goofy — fun, adorable, lovable, great!

This…is WEIRD GOOFY (aka the Goofy you see on Mickey’s Runaway Railway). Some people love him and no shade to them. BUT his eyes and teeth have gone VERY yellow and he looks just a bit…off. Like he’s NOT the type of person you would want working on the train you’re riding, you know what we mean? Like we said, we totally get that some people love this animation style, but it’s not necessarily for everyone.

And we’ll just go out on a limb here and say that practically anything with weird Goofy on it could probably fall into the “who thought this was a good idea” category for those who aren’t a fan of this design style.

Poor Goofy, he was always a bit on the unique side, but now it feels like he’s really gone off the rails.
7. Baby Yoda Hat with ARMS
We have seen a LOT of Baby Yoda things but this new Baby Yoda hat with ARMS lives in our heads rent-free. When you squeeze his arms, Baby Yoda’s ears move up and down — does that make this item weirder or cooler? We don’t really know.

But, it is certainly unique! If you’re the ULTIMATE Baby Yoda fan, then this might be a thing for you. But, if you don’t necessarily need to wear Baby Yoda’s head attached only to his long arms, which move his ears, then yeahhhhhh…this might be a skip!

8. Hades Headband
Minnie ears come in all shapes and forms now — we’ve even seen dog and cat ears. But, we truly felt like we had seen it all when we found the Hades headband! It’s…something. Okay, is it just us or are you getting some major Troll vibes??

This headband is a LOOK. And as if it wasn’t loud enough already, it also lights up!

9. Poison Trinket Trays
Oh boy, these things DEFINITELY made us scratch our heads when we first saw them. At first, we couldn’t even really tell what these miniature park icons were meant for. Holding sponges maybe?

But then, we spotted something that made us put those sponges away. See that warning? These little beauties say that they might POISON FOOD!

But seriously, could Disney not have used paint or other materials that were NOT poisonous for food?? So strange.

10. Keychains We Just Cannot Explain
And finally, we reach the items that we started this post with — the keychains that are beyond explanation! We get that this Little Green Alien is meant to look like an Alien Popcorn Bucket and that idea is really fun. But, in reality, this keychain just makes it look like he’s foaming at the mouth or like he’s choking on popcorn!
What is going on here?
But, that’s not the only strange keychain we’ve seen lately. Over at Disneyland, we found this mini popcorn bucket which is adorable from the front…
It’s a tiny Mickey popcorn bucket
…but has more of that popcorn coming out the back — again, like it would in a regular popcorn bucket. Maybe it’s just a bit TOO much popcorn there — we’re not sure, but something doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe we’re just scarred from the popcorn pouring out of the Alien’s mouth.
Now we want popcorn.
There are SO many great, fun, unique, and beautiful Disney items out there, but some of them just make us wonder who thought this was a good idea?! What strange and funny Disney items will we find next? We’re not sure! But we cannot wait to find out.
