Recently, the California government created a plan to reopen the state, as small businesses are beginning to recover from the effects of the pandemic. The CDC has stated that fully vaccinated Americans can safely travel once again. And now, France has provided an update on its own travel restrictions.

According to Forbes, France plans to allow fully vaccinated Americans to visit the country this summer. French President Emmanuel Macron explained that the vaccine’s accelerated production has led to this lifting of restrictions, despite the fact that the country is currently in its third national lockdown.

Macron stated that fully vaccinated Americans will receive a “special pass” that would allow them to travel to France. The certificate may also apply to those who have a negative PCR test or who recently recovered from COVID-19.

This “special pass” is a variation of the “digital green certificate” Europe is developing for its citizens which, according to Macron, would “facilitate the travels after these restrictions between the different European countries with testing and vaccination.”
