The Saga of Weirdness on EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon Continues
There are a TON of changes happening around Disney World, and we’ve been busy tracking them all!
We’ve found several new updates this week to ongoing Disney World projects, and we’re here to give you all the details!
Magic Kingdom
Cinderella Castle
There have been SO MANY changes to Cinderella Castle lately! Recently, new decorations were added in preparation for the 50th Anniversary celebration later this year.
We’ve also been tracking all of the maintenance happening on the Castle stage. We’ve seen the installation of wooden planks, ice and water shields, and now, it looks like additional support beams have been put in place.
The stage maintenance has been going on for over a month now! We’ll definitely be checking out any further changes to Magic Kingdom’s main icon.

EPCOT
Harmonious
Over on World Showcase Lagoon, EPCOT’s upcoming show, Harmonious, is still the main distraction. Sorry, we mean attraction!
The show’s centerpiece ring was installed not too long ago. Now, it’s started some very eye-catching testing. We get upside-down spider vibes here, anyone else?
We’re excited to see this show come to life, but for now, we’ll just have to settle for looking at these big metal barges!
But, never fear, eventually these barges will serve as fountains during the day. We’ll keep providing updates on allll of the work happening in EPCOT!

Disney Resorts
Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Resort is in the middle of a big refurbishment project to incorporate Moana-themed elements throughout the hotel! The resort, along with the newly reimagined rooms, is set to open this summer and reservations have become available!
This week, we noticed construction taking place in some new areas.
Previously, you used to be able to walk past the large Tiki head to get to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Now with the current construction, you’ll have to walk around!
Work continues on the resort buildings to support the conversion of rooms to the new Moana theme.
We can’t wait to see all the new Moana elements at the resort soon! But in the meantime, you can find us eating Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai.

General Construction
Walt Disney World Entrance Sign
Each entrance to Disney World is getting reimagined for the 50th Anniversary celebration, and the World Drive gateway is still in the process of getting repainted!
Soon, it’ll match the other completed gateways.
