NEWS: Disneyland Announced as Orange County’s First Mass Vaccination Site
There have been many updates to distribution procedures for the COVID-19 vaccine across the country.
Vaccine distribution began in California last month, and we’ve been keeping an eye out for any significant updates. Today, it was announced that Disneyland will be the first large-scale vaccination site in Orange County.
Disneyland has remained closed since last year, making it available to receive large amounts of visitors to receive the vaccine. It will be one of five mass vaccination sites within Orange County, according to the Orange County Register.
As coronavirus cases soar in the state, vaccine distribution has become a top priority. Currently, vaccines are still in the “highest priority phase,” and are being provided to those who work within healthcare and long-term care facilities.
Dr. Pamela Hymel, the chief medical officer of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products shared, “Disneyland Resort is proud to help support Orange County and the city of Anaheim with the use of our property, and we are grateful for all of their efforts to combat COVID-19.”
Disneyland’s vaccination site will be available later this week to serve those eligible based on the state’s priority list, who live or work in Orange County. Vaccinations will be available by appointment only. Dodger Stadium was also announced as a mass vaccination site, and we’re waiting for information about the other designated locations.
We’ll be looking for updates regarding more specific details about how the vaccination site will operate. Check back with us for more Disneyland news.
