REVIEW! Were We Let Down (Again!) by Disney World’s Santa Mickey Mousse?

The holiday season has been in full swing at the Disney World Resort for about a month now, and we’re STILL trying new snacks that are just starting to arrive in the parks! As recently as yesterday we were stopping by AristoCrepes in Disney Springs to try their newest menu addition, the Santa Crepe!

We also had to pack our patience for another holiday treat to appear at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and our fingers were crossed that the Santa Mickey Mousse from Creature Comforts would be worth the wait!

It’s been a bit of a rocky road for Santa-themed mousses at Disney World. We were pretty let down last year with the Santa Mickey Mousse from ABC Commissary at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so when we heard there was another one coming to the parks this year, we were a little hesitant.

Once we heard that the ingredients were totally different from last year, however, our spirits improved and we felt a glimmer of hope that we would fall head over heels for this holiday treat!  This year’s mousse is a white chocolate peppermint mousse dome on a brownie base, topped with snowflake sprinkles, and garnished with chocolate Mickey ears.

While the mousse itself was pleasant, we had our work cut out for us biting into the brownie. We’re hoping we just got a bad batch, because Disney’s brownies are usually really fudgy! This one was just too thick and too hard for us. If you’re on the fence with peppermint-flavored snacks, you may not find this mousse to be worth the splurge. While the peppermint flavor was light, it’s definitely there!

So was it an improvement from last year’s mousse? We’re hesitant to say yes, since we were super bummed about the brownie. Our fingers crossed that the brownies get more fudgy in the days and weeks to come!

While this treat is undeniably cute and festive, the experience of actually eating it didn’t pay off. This holiday season, you’re more likely to find us at Flame Tree Barbecue enjoying one of their Menagerie Cupcakes

This Santa Mickey Mousse won’t be around forever! It’s only available at Creature Comforts through January 2nd, so you only have a few weeks to pick this up along with your favorite hot beverage on your next visit! Grab one for $5.49!
