Last month, Orange County, the county in which Disneyland is located, was pushed back into the severe purple tier for COVID-19 cases. Now, as nearby Los Angeles County has been placed under a safer-at-home order, the city of Los Angeles is following suit.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles mayor’s office released a safer-at-home order that mirror’s the countywide order. This order closes nonexempt businesses, although many sectors are exempt including retail if they have implemented the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Protocols for Retail Establishments Opening for In-person Shopping.

According to KTLA, the mayor’s deputy press secretary, Harrison Wollman, notes, “The city uploaded the most recent version of its safer-at-home order today to match the county’s current order that was enacted earlier this week. The two orders are identical, and the process of publishing the official document on our website is a formality that occurs each time the order is revised.”

Disneyland Resort is unaffected as it is located in nearby Anaheim. However, the situation in Los Angeles could indicate a potential safer-at-home order in Orange County. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest updates on California’s response and how it affects Disneyland.
