NEWS: The Mara is Reopening For a Limited Time in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

It looks like guests will soon be able to set foot inside The Mara once again over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Jambo House Sign Decorated for the Holidays!

The primary Counter Service location for Animal Kingdom Lodge, located in Jambo House, has been closed while Kidani Village is currently the portion of the Resort that is hosting guests. But it appears that the beautiful Lodge is preparing to welcome more guests over Christmas and New Year’s. And more guests, of course, means MORE FOOD options! Here’s what we’re finding…

Currently on the Walt Disney World website, the page for The Mara is displaying hours for Breakfast ONLY from 7:30AM – 11:30 AM. These hours are listed from December 23rd through January 2nd, and — at press time — that’s all she wrote!

So, it looks like this is simply an offering to feed a few more guests during a busy time. And, in the same way that hours are limited, it looks as though food choices will be somewhat limited, as well.

Outdoor Seating at The Mara

Bakery items currently listed on the menu include Muffins, a Cinnamon Roll, and Croissants, and a selection of fruit will be available as well.

Morning snacks feature a selection of Yogurts and Hard-boiled Eggs.

And it seems that the refrigerator will be stocked with bottled drinks like sodas, juices, and iced tea.

They’re keeping things simple, as hot selections such as the Bounty Platter, Croissant Breakfast Sandwich, Fried Egg, Ham and Cheese Sandwich, Mickey Waffles, Steel-Cut Oatmeal, Breakfast Quinoa, and the Plant-Based Safari Bobotie are NOT currently listed among the available options. And, in fact, specialty coffees such as Lattes and Cold Brew aren’t listed, either.

Guests looking for more than Grab-and-Go will be glad to know that the unique breakfast over at Sanaa remains an option!

Sanaa Hours

It’s unique in that Sanaa is a Table Service option for Lunch and Dinner, but guests can grab a Counter Service breakfast in the mornings!

Sanaa Banana Bread for Breakfast

Kuamasha Breakfast Entrees include Eggs Benedict, the Boere Breakfast, and Shahi Tukra French Toast. And the Grab-and-Go options are more unique as well, including the yummy Banana Bread with House-made African Chocolate Hazelnut Sauce. (A few Sunrise Spirits are up for grabs, as well. Cheers!)

Check out what BREAKFAST is like at Sanaa here!

We’ll keep you posted on any changes moving forward, as always! But for now, that’s the scoop!
