What’s Black, Green, and Red All Over in Disney World…and Should You EAT It?

How can we not love Halloween at Disney World? The parks go all out this time of year with amazing fall decorations, along with special snacks and drinks!

Fort Wilderness

So we headed over to P & J’s Southern Takeout at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to see what kind of spooky concoctions they’ve cooked up!

That’s where we discovered the Frightfully Spooky Strawberry Shortcake Push Pop, which looks a little weird, but it’s strawberry shortcake — and the strawberry shortcake here is DELISH — so we had to try it out!

Frightfully Spooky Strawberry Shortcake Push Pops

This spooky dessert, which costs $4.99, is from bottom to top: chocolate shortcake, macerated strawberries, purple whipped cream, more chocolate shortcake, more macerated strawberries, green whipped cream, and sprinkles on top.

This green whipped cream is not super appealing to the eye… The sprinkles are black bats, white ghosts, and orange pumpkins. FREAKY.

Yes, it does look a bit weird, but once you get past all that stuff on top, you’ve got strawberry shortcake (which doesn’t look appetizing…at all). BUT it’s good! It tastes just like P & J’s regular strawberry shortcake, but with chocolate cake (OH, YEAH).

This is one of those desserts where looks can be deceiving (and we’ve seen that before with the Box of Bones Eclair). It’s something we would highly recommend because it’s just that yummy. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more spooky snacks, so stay tuned!
