The ONE Thing You’ll Need to Do Before Getting on a Disney Cruise Line Ship When Sailings Resume

Walt Disney World and other Disney theme parks around the world have been officially reopened for some time now, but there’s one part of Disney’s travel portfolio that has no signs of reopening: Disney Cruise Line.

And previously, Disney has stated that its cruise line would be the “last [part of the business] to come back for us.

As of now, DCL sailings are suspended through mid-December, but what could Disney Cruise Line look like when sailings resume? According to trade organization Cruise Lines International Association, it looks like negative coronavirus tests for all passengers and crew prior to embarkation.

CLIA president and CEO Kelly Craighead announced at Seatrade Cruise Virtual that the CLIA Global Board of Directors has voted to approve 100% testing of passengers and crew prior to embarkation, with a requirement for a negative test, as a core element of initial resumption globally. Disney Cruise Line is a member of CLIA.

This is a MANDATORY measure for all CLIA cruise lines and is effective immediately for the restart of passenger service for vessels capable of carrying 250 or more passengers.

Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream

This measure is particularly timely since the CDC’s no sail order for cruise ships is only extended through the end of October. That means, cruises COULD possibly set sail in a matter of weeks. When cruises do resume, it’s safe to say they’ll probably look a LITTLE different with more health and safety measures. And when Disney Cruise Line announces its first sailing again, we’ll let you know all the deets.
