Review: Which of These Three New SPOOKY Treats Do YOU Want To Try in Disney World?
As the sun is coming up in Disney World, a quiet morning with spooky treats seems like the best way to kick off Hallo-Week! (Anybody else shivering with anticipation??)
Although the parks have continued to get busier, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort was fairly calm this morning as we made our way over to the BoardWalk Bakery. And, we started the day off on a sweet note since there wasn’t just one… but THREE fall treats that had our name all over them!
We arrived at the BoardWalk Bakery as it was opening up to guests (we were excited to have our treats extra fresh). Since Halloween is only a few days away, it’s only fitting that the BoardWalk celebrates the holiday with new treats that were wickedly cute.
First up was the Candy Corny Cupcake with its misplaced googly eyes that made us giggle! The vanilla cupcake was stuffed with a white chocolate candy corn mousse filling, topped with buttercream icing, and finished with crispy pearls on top.
This treat might seem like it’s icing heavy, but the frosting was surprisingly light compared to the rest of the cupcake. While the cake was moist, the real winner was the filling that came with candy corn (YES, PLEASE). The Candy Corny Cupcake made us feel like we were getting our trick-or-treat on early for $5.99, and we were more than happy to get snacking before All Hallow’s Eve.
The Ghostly Brownie followed the cupcake with chocolate ganache and meringue ghosts topping the traditional treat for $4.79. We also just want to note that the little ghosts were so cute that the photos don’t even do them justice (spirits are sensitive to bright light, you know!).
The brownie was rich and flavorful, but the stars of the show were the meringue ghosts obviously. They melted in your mouth with each bite, making us want to chow down on a whole bag of these babies on Halloween.
We’ve been finding a lot of marshmallow treats around the parks recently! While the loaded caramel version over in EPCOT threw us for a loop yesterday, the Witches Marshmallow Hat was actually our favorite treat out of the Halloween offerings at the BoardWalk Bakery!
The straight-up sugary marshmallow was complemented by the dark chocolate and sprinkles on top. The Benton sugar cookie was also crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside (which REALLY made the texture all the better for us). Marshmallow treats in Disney World tend to be a little sweet for our tastes, but the Witches Marshmallow Hat had a great balance for $4.99.
Although spooky season might be coming to a close (and we’re shedding a few tears about it), we’re glad to hang onto the last bits of Halloween with the treats over at the BoardWalk! As we hop around Disney World to check out all the other frightfully fun happenings this week, we’ll give you a look at everything you can expect to see in the parks!
