NEWS: Canada Has Extended US Border Restrictions Through Mid-November

Though Disney World has been open for three months now, it is still difficult for some international travelers to plan their trips.

EPCOT’s Canada

Back in March, Canada and the United States imposed border restrictions that restrict nonessential travel between the two countries. Understandably, this makes it difficult for Canadian residents to travel to Disney World for leisure. Now, those restrictions have been extended.

According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada has extended the U.S. border restrictions for nonessential travel through November 21st. These restrictions have been renewed monthly since March.

Under these restrictions, essential travel is permitted such as that required for healthcare professionals, airline crews, and truck drivers. Immediate and extended family members of Canadian citizens or permanent residents and some foreign nationals are also allowed to enter the country.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents are permitted to travel to the U.S., but there is a travel advisory to “Avoid non-essential travel outside Canada.” So, a Disney trip is a possibility for Canadians but it is actively discouraged by the government.
